If I buy this product will I be able to update the OS inside with the jack-to-serial pc link cable? If so, which application can use?

Thanks very much

Hello cb951303 and welcome to the UCF! :D

Sorry no, the fx-9750G is not OS upgradable.

I can't find the technical specs of thhis calculator. How much EEPROM does it have to store text data and formulas?
Is it possible to write a text file in windows and then transfer it to the fx-9750g via link cable?

thanks again

The fx-9750G Plus only has, I think 64KB of "RAM". You can't transfer a text file to the fx-9750G per se, but you can store notes within a BASIC program.

64 KB? My one has only 32KB (28 for user).
You only can update the OS by opening the calculator. But you would have to write the new OS yourself. Martin Poupe (see his website ) has done it for th CFX 9850 G, but the hardware is slightly different (e.g. color screen), so his OS needn't run on the fx 9750 G Plus.

maybe we should start exchanging rom hex dumps so people with calculators with out a usb connection would get the latest software :)
does anyone know what kind of ROM is used in these cals so that I can find an appropriate programmer.

thanks

Well, that would be nice, but what's the point. No updates exists for the fx-9750G. You can't simply take an OS from a calculator that has USB (ex. fx-9860) and it expect it to work in the fx-9750G.
