    Casio fx-9860G Slim

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I recently bought an fx-9860G Slim after close evaluation with other calculators - I was quite fond of the fx-115ES scientific so I decided to go Casio for graphing. It's currently on its way in the mail. My only problem is that I'm rather new to the world of calculator homebrew applications and installation and all of that. So far I've discovered the edu.casio.com website and researched the official releases of the 2.0 update, the geometry app, and the physium app. It appears that these are the only apps available from Casio. Is the 2.0 update recommended?

I've also found that there are CAS apps for the 9860Gs! This is fantastic... however there is one available from jeuxcasio.com and there's one floating around called Symbolix. Are they both the same?

Oh and as for games or any other useful must-haves for the 9860G such as tools... pointers would be appreciated. Thanks for any help guys.

send it back, get the 9860G then upload the hacked firmware to make it act like the 9860GII

no, and buy a class pad if you want CAS or TI-nSPIRE CAS

Oh and as for games

buy a PSP/NDS/GB*

I don't want to be carrying around a brick that takes 4 AAAs, thanks... I needed the portability of the slim. The backlight and folding profile is highly desirable to me.

TI... no... the nSPIRE is too new of a product and has many bugs and kinks to be worked out. A close friend of mine has one and is very dissatisfied. Also a brick.

As for the Classpad, I have no use whatsoever for a touchscreen.

Try playing a PSP in the middle of an exam that you have 2 hours left to finish. I have one anyway, it's not that great. The iTouch puts things to better use than does the PSP.
