as some of you may know, i had an "accident" and destroyed my old cfx back in februay.

basically the screen had a very heavy wait (my chair - while i was sitting on it) placed on the screen. the glass cracked. is there any place i can get a replacement screen?

if not, does anyone have a use for a calc that works fine except for the screen?

actually maybe an fx1.0 might be better for you, it's cheaper than the afx and has all the same features, just not all available from the main menu. See the thread on this forum discussing that at length. Seeing as the fx1.0 is anywhere from 50 to 75 US dollars cheaper, that might be the way to go.

:D No Casto Productions the FX 1.0/Plus has all the features of the AFX 2.0/Plus, the only thing that I can?t access yet is the option to disable the tutor program?..

And the system program of the FX 1.0 has the same options of the system of the AFX 2.0 Plus, but I can?t access then yet..

Anyway rjstephens can?t you buy one from the Internet?

 At some time ago I have found one web site dedicated for damaged calcs, there you can by used pieces, but I can?t remember the address and the site?s name, but anyway I will try to find then

Well, in fact the FX1.0+ is NOT cheaper then the AFX (at least not
in germany) the difference is only ~5 Euros. Thats nothing!
The only thing the FX is better for is you can use it at school while
you are not allowed to use the AFX (at least in Germany)

:D This one of the most important reasons to by the FX 1.0, because that calc are allowed in many countries for exams, and of course they have the same AFX 2.0 software??

The FX 1.0 Plus is cheaper in comparison whit the AFX 2.0 Plus, and not whit the AFX 2.0?.

I was looking on ebay, and I just searched for "casio fx" and came up with about 20 items, of which 4 were brand new AFX's going for 49.99 US dollars with the "buy it now" feature at that same price. They even offered international shipping for a few dollars more. Not sure if that helps though because I'm not sure how US money compares to Au money
