I've seen many casio users have a fx-9860 or fx-9860 GII
Why is fx so popular?
I currently have ClassPad because my dad got it from his work and he doesn't want it. Is there any reason for me to buy the fx?

If you have a ClassPad, you're fine.
Most educational institutions don't allow computer algebra systems - so that's why many have an fx-9860G/GII instead.
