Hi, just bought the fx-115es calculator to take the Fundamentals Engineering Exam and I'm trying to erase my TI-89 calc knowledge and learn how to use this casio calc. The first issue that I ran into is solving derivatives.

EX:
TI-89 -> d/dx(9x^3) = 27x^2
FX-115ES -> d/dx(9x^3)|x=1 = 27 .... what happened to the x^2?. Also when I try putting x=x in the end, it takes what is stored in X and calculated that. I guess I also want to know how to I set X=X and not an interchangeable variable.

I bought this calculator as it was listed as an approved calculator to take the exam and I saw that it can perform derivatives, integrals, matrix, and so on. If I can't even perform that simple example on the calculator, i can imagine more complex equations. Some help me please.

Thanks

The fx-115es doesn't have CAS. You cannot perform symbolic calculations with fx-115es, all calculations of derivatives and integrals are performed numerically.
