Simon Lothar found the key combo to access the diagnostic mode! :D
Read it here: http://revolution-fx...diagnostic_mode

Also, there's a combo for forcing your GII calc into OS update mode:

The primary emergency OS update can be triggered by simultaneously holding down <span class=F2' /> , <span class=4' /> and [AC/on] while pressing the RESTART-button.
Release every button. The calc should show a blank display now. Finally press <span class=9' /> and <span class=×' /> consecutively.

------------
Key combos for older devices:

CFX Series: [Ab/c] + <span class=F6' /> + [AC/on]
AFX Series: <span class=F1' /> + [->] + [AC/on]

I thought the diagnostic menu in the 9860 only said:

=DIAGNOSTIC MODE=
factory use only!

press: EXIT

so where does valiable manager come in? :banghead:

{EDIT}
got rid of a typo

The fx-9860G/GII test menu can be accessed via syscall 0x0924 only (at least since OS 2.00).
Simon's Insight add-in has an option for this.

New link: http://prizmwiki.omn...iagnostics_Mode
And the Prizm article: http://prizmwiki.omn...ki/Factory_test

@flyingfisch
Have a look here: http://www.casiocalc...=...ost&p=47291
The file includes a small test mode add-in.

I just did a small update and reposted this as the UCF disables the 'edit' button after a week or so.
