    Class Pad 300 Plus

Posted 08 August 2010 - 02:20 PM

I have Casio ClassPad 300PLUS. I have had a problem with the touchdisplay (function identification), which I have always solved by resetting and new display calibration. Now the calibration no longer works. The display point identification does not work at all. Please, let me know what to do. Thank you and best regards, Mirek

Call the Casio hot line. In the U.S. the number is 800-435-7732. How old is your calculator? The latest model is the 330 which has been around for quite some time so your calculator is probably not in warrenty and you are probably due for a new one but it doesn't hurt to call and ask.

Your question was already asked and answered. Surely you have read my post above on this subject. And surely you don't want deal with the problem and just want to complain. That makes me wonder if you have a Classpad at all. On the other hand if you do, how many times did you drop it before the problem occurred? The 300 plus was discontinued long long ago so go spend the money and buy a new 330. Then take better care of it than you did the 300+. I'll repeat my advice so that you undestand. Go spend the money and buy a new calculator. That is what you do. :nonono:

Hello,

I have the same problem since yesterday evening on my Classpad 300 Plus. I can't calibrate the screen. The display point identification does not work at all and resetting the classpad doesn't solve the problem. I cant use my Classpad at all.

Do you know this problem and what to do ?

Thank you for your answers
Patrick

Let me try to understand your problem. The facts seem to be that you have an old calculator that is not working and you are not willing to buy a new one. Is that correct? An additional fact is that it was probably damaged by dropping because calculators don't just stop working except when the batteries are dead. Is that correct? Then it seems that you are just a dead beat looking for a handout because if indeed you are a mechanical engineering teacher your school would provide you with a calculator but I am sure you will have an excuse for that not happening. :roflol:

Quite frankly I would be very disappointed if Casio provided you with any assistance. Everyone else spends their money for a new calculator every few years so why should you be any different? You are being unreasonable and making an effort to get something for free that you don't deserve. My recommendation is that you should obtain an old TI calculator that doesn't work, and try to get TI to fix it or give you a new one for free. You are just the kind of customer that TI should have. Try them, and tell them that JBB sent you. That should work.

Hi,

It is not my question but your answer that is useless. If it is the only answer that you can give me I could answer it by myself. It is not the first time that the screen freeze on my calculator. It is the second time. The first time I sent it back to CASIO to make it repaired for free. But today I don't want to pay for a new reparing that sound like a calculator default. I am a mechanical engineering teacher and I need it to work.
I have pay a lot for this calculator three years ago and I don't want to invest again in a new calculator of that price.

Hi!

So three people here have the same problem as me.

Kabel, Patrick and mirek. And there might be the same problem that the spanish people are discussing in this thread:
http://www.casiocalc...?showtopic=3552

And also two people here
http://www.fixya.com...ought_calss_pad
http://www.fixya.com.../t5924948-casio

It might be that school is beginning now for the fall, and people want to begin to use their Classpad?

I've got a 2,5 years old classpad. It's been used very little, almost nothing at all - I just bring it to some exams where I might have to do some laplace etc.. Anyways - it's in like new condition.

And now, after not having used it for perhaps 4 months, I started it up to do some math, and the touchscreen won't work! I was in the main menu, where I could move the display with the cursor button. I did press the hardware reset button. That brought me to a reset and the screen calibrations menu, touch the crosses, which I can't get passed since the Classpad won't react to any input on the touch screen.

I want to try to do a factory reset, but how could I do this without the touchscreen? Using a PC? Something else?

I don't know of any software way to fix that. I haven't had such a problem before, but if P-button doesn't work, and you can't access reset options in 'System' application there remains only one other way for resetting: Turn your classpad off then press [=] + <span class=EXP' /> + [On/Off] together (hold for a few seconds). This will delete all data from cp's memory AND I'm almost sure it will not cure your classpad so simply don't try it!

The real solution is that you dudes need to take your classpads to the nearest casio repairing center, find contact details at http://world.casio.com (Choose country and go to support section, then look for repairing centers). If no repairing centers near you, call your local dealer and ask them what to do.

Someone may want to tell this to the people at fixya too. I don't know why they posted their problems there. Where they looking for any hardware-related solution they can handle themselves? Maybe open their classpads and solder the lcd pins? (don't try this at home!!)

Hi!

I do as you write and I get to the menu and it asks if I want to "delete all user data", but I don't know how to answer yes? I've tried every button, and nothing makes anything. It just goes into the main standard menu after a while, perhaps 6 seconds.

No, you did not do as he has written. He offered good advice and said specifically: "The real solution is that you dudes need to take your classpads to the nearest casio repairing center, find contact details at http://world.casio.com (Choose country and go to support section, then look for repairing centers). Why is it that you don't you do that? Are you stupid or something? No, I think you are just a troll and don't really have a classpad and I think all these posts about the touch screen are all written by one person and it's time for us to ignore you.

Hi Patrick

That was great to hear! Did they do this even if your calculator was out of warranty?

best regards!

Hi,

Like I said it before, it was the second time that the screen of my classpad had frozen.

I contacted the Casio support and explained my problem.

They answered me what to do.

I sent my classpad to the nearest casio repairing center with the bill, the purchase proof ticket, the first repairing report, and miracle, they sent me back a new classpad.

Great CASIO

Patrick

Yes they did.
Perhaps my case was perticular case because when the screen of my first classpad stopped to operate properly, my classpad was on warranty. I sent it to CASIO and they repaired the screen. They sent me back my calculator with repairing report. The second time the screen of the classpad stopped to operate my classpad was out of warranty.
I contacted CASIO support on the WEB and let a message in which I explained the problem. I tell them that I found a little bit more that this problem occurs for the second time for a calculator of that price and that it stayed to me to solutions : the first one they repair my calculator for free and I stay faithful to CASIO or the second one I purchase a new calculator but it will not be a CASIO because of a loose of confidence in the product.
I am a teacher so I think they treat me carefully.
But I do appreciate the fact that they sent me back a new calculator for free. This is the proof that CASIO takes care of its customers

I sent my calculator to the service center and they asked 90 $ to get it repaired because was out of warranty. I told them that i could buy new calculator for that price, and all that they answered was "go ahead and buy one because this one is dead, we are not going to replace it for free, you do not have warranty". I received my classpad in the mail, thrashed it, and went to the nearest store and bought TI-89 titanium that works.

This is going to be my last casio product. Beside the classpad, i own several expensive casio pathfinder watches. No more casio products in my life.

This is the proof that CASIO DOES NOT TAKE CARE of its customers !!!

Although your different countries may happen to be the cause of different warranty service perfectness you received, keep in mind that screen problems are not a thing that only happen on ClassPad, so it's a bit unfair to speak like that.

After all, nice choice. :) Wish you success in your exams with your new TI.
I still have my ClassPad 300 and it suits my needs. (Look I personally wont blame others for buying calculators other than ClassPad  )

Just because you bought a product years ago does not mean that you entitled to free ones for the rest of your life. You can rest assured that TI won't give you free ones after the warrenty runs out either but I'm glad that you switched to TI. They deserve unreasonable customers like you. Why didn't you buy the nspire. That is a real piece of junk.
