Hey guys,
I just received my Casio FX9860 GII. I installed the hard drive on my Win XP SP3. I installed FA-124. I open FA-124 program through start menu.
There are 2 sub windows: on the left there is Calculator and on right there is FA-124.
On my calculator there are 2 memories: Main and Storage. Storage has more free space.
Anyway I press on link. Cable type: USB, Wakeup: on, Capture: Memory
Then I press on F2 which is RECV. The screen on the calculator goes to "Receiving... AC: CANCEL". It remains like that. Then on the calculator sub window in fa-124 i click connect. It connects.
Now I know how to write a program in the main memory by going to ITEM NEW and then I start writing and save it and then transfer it. But I would like to write stuff in STORAGE MEMORY since it has more free space. When I click on the last green icon on both the sub windows and go to ITEM on the main toolbar I cannot click NEW. It is grey'ed out.

:(

How do I fix this? PLEASE help...thank you!

When you place a program in your storage memory it converts into a .g1m. In your situation I would write programs in main memory and then just store ones you are not immediately using in the storage memory. (It is impossible to run programs or edit them in the storage memory, it is for storage only)

To place something in the storage memory:
1) enter MEMORY from the main menu.
2) Select F1 (MAIN) scroll down and find <PROGRAM>.
3) Find the program that you want to copy and press F1 (SEL), F2 (COPY).
4) Select the ROOT directory and enter a name and now you should have the .g1m.

This can also be done to copy something from the storage memory to the main memory. You can copy just about anything from the main memory including variables, spreadsheets, matrices ect... (E-ACT's (.g1e) are by default in the storage memory.

g1m's are useful because you can place multiple program files in them and they can be easily uploaded to something like CasioKingdom. To place multiple files in them just select more than one file with F1 before you hit copy.
