My GC is the casio fx 9860g slim, and the problem is that when i use it for some time, there would be a random error "gy 363 update" popping up that makes me unable to calculate or anything because it'll pop up repeatedly.
And im not allowed to upgrade pass version OS 01.11.0000 due to examination restrictions. Current version is already 01.11.0000
Please help thx!

Make a backup of all files before you do this.

... for some time, there would be a random error "gy 363 update" popping up ....
That's strange. Never heard about that error message before, have you tried the reset button yet? it may helps.
BTW, fx-9860G slim can be upgraded to version 02.00.0100 (not a conversion to fx-9860GII--02.00.0200 which removes help system); try reading this thread:-

When they switched from collector to premium accounts the download expiration was effectively removed.

As far as I know you can update to OS 1.11 again once the update mode was entered.
Make a backup of all files before you do this.
Is it a official "update mode"? Because when the screen displays the "Gy 363 OSupdate", other buttons cannot be pressed for awhile.. and if i continue using calculator functions, the error pops up again ): kinda troublesome in exams!
Anw when i try to update to 1.11 again, it says it cannot be updated as its already the current version

You should do the update to OS 2.00 and then revert back to OS 1.11; however, the user flash memory is normally not cleared when doing OS updates.
If it does not come up again, can you make a backup with pfxrecover? Does this work?

"Nothing is really for free" is always true, commercial authorities are such boring. BTW good thanks to the guy who uploaded it.When they switched from collector to premium accounts the download expiration was effectively removed.

If it's user memory that corrupt, then why the OS error? Well, if there's really something wrong with it, storage mem. optimization or backup/restore of addons could help (?), BTW SgJoe now seems to stuck at "OS error" screen.Hmm, possible user storage memory corruption?
I wonder if he did surely complete the OS update, OS error could be a result of an interrupted (by update program itself) process.
Agreed, because that's the only thing he can do now.You should do the update to OS 2.00 and then revert back to OS 1.11
>>SgJoe: If you can update to OS 2.0, when your're to revert back to 1.11 you can:-
Or simply download PfxRecover from link in last post and use restore button with Slim OS 1.11 flash image (if you need this and can't find it somewhere else, I can revert my slim back to 1.11 and get the image for you).1. Download GII_to_slim_doc.zip from http://casiokingdom....F...pic&p=13262.
2. Extract OSUPDATE.G1A from the archive, install it to your slim via FA-124 application.
3. Go to your calculator, run OSUpdate icon. This forces OS Update so you can revert to 1.11
4. Run OS 1.11 update.

As the user storage memory is not cleared during the update, the OS may get confused about it.If it's user memory that corrupt, then why the OS error? Well, if there's really something wrong with it, storage mem. optimization or backup/restore of addons could help (?)
Do not try this at home: On my first fx-9860G SD I once removed all batteries during a flash memory optimization and it came up with the "Optimization stopped" screen; however, no key was actually working! At this time, I did not know how to do an OS update manually - so I sent it in for repair and got a new one.
It is also possible that the OS backs up corrupted RAM data and reloads it on the next startup. But the setup's firmware image normally comes with an empty backup sector, so this cannot be the case.
The remaining cases are:
(1) The calculator's BIOS/boot code got corrupted. (No idea why this should happen)
(2) The calculator's hardware got a defect.

Mmm.. that would be another good solution to the problem, I guess. (especially for hw. defect)
