According to me you need a calc with CAS capabilities.

The gradient of a function at point P is simply

d/dx(f(x),a)

where a is the value of x at P, but thanks anyway.

Doubt resolved.

I am confused, this expression is not gradient.
Definition of gradient is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gradient. Probably you wanted to numerically determine the derivative (of the 1st order) at point P. Such types of numerical calculations can be evaluated on your calc.
