I just fot the Classpad 330 today with 3.02 OS
I played around with it. Did some intergrals.
Worked fine. Then i went to check out eactivity.
Clicked open file and then it happened.

I got this error message.

Data error
Data initialize error

I tried pushing p resest button on the back. Tried pulling out batteries.
Nothing helps. The error takes up the whole skreen with a little graphic display of
broken calculator and little smoke coming out of it.

Tried calling casio support. They said pull out the batteries and backup battery for 15 minutes.
i can't find a backup batery to pull out.

Any help is apreciated. If you know of another method of resetting the calculator please let me know.

If you buy it from Casio, send to their support for fixing, or ask your seller for replacement.

Ok i finaly managed to figure out a secret reset code.

It is press 1,3,5,7,9 and on/off button at the same time and hold. While doing that press p reset button on the back for 2 seconds then release it
and bingo it worked. Reset everything to the begining screen were you have to select the corners of the screen.

I checked the version of my os and it is 3.02 so i decided to upgrade to 3.05 and hope it removes the bug that caused the driver error.
I tried doing the os update but it doesn't go threw. I installed the software on the computer with the driver. It sees the calculator, connects
to it just starts to load os and looses connection.

Now the calculator screen says OS downloader Communicating by USB port No boot block

Has any budy else installed a new OS? Need help..........

Tried two different computers. One with xp and one with windows 7 and both would loose connection.
Please help..........................................

How did you find that? Pressing the P button itself is enough to go the beginning screen where you tap the screen corners. Seems to me that the pressing 1,3,5 etc keys were not needed.

Tried two different computers. One with xp and one with windows 7 and both would loose connection.

Loosing connection is so unusual. Is the cable alright? Where operating systems 32/64 bit?

Read the manual. Pressing p button is only a basic reset.

Resetting and initializing the classpad

The memory of your ClassPad is divided into three parts: main memory, a storage area for
storing data, and a RAM area for executing various calculations and operations. Reset and
initialize restore normal ClassPad operation after some problem occurs.

Ram Reset

Perform RAM reset when the ClassPad freezes up or otherwise fails to perform as expected
for some reason. A RAM reset does not affect data stored in main memory or the storage
area, but it clears any data stored in the RAM area.

Memory reset

Memory reset deletes all variable data in main memory or all eActivity data in the storage
area, or both.

Memory Initialize

Initializing memory deletes all data and returns ClassPad memory to its initial factory default
state. When initializing memory, you will be able to specify whether or not you also want to
delete add-in applications.
This section explains how to perform the RAM reset operations only. The memory reset and
memory initialize operations are performed using the System application. For details, see “16-3
Using the Reset Dialog Box” and “16-4 Initializing Your ClassPad”.

Here is what i get when i try to load a new os on the classpad 330.

First screen says update it goes all the way then comes out the writing
screen. It gets to one green bar and then disconnects. Then it jumps to
verify screen and then starts all over again in the same cycle.

Any idea what's wrong. Could it be driver issues?

I don't understand how casio support is no help. You should be able to send your defective calculator to them and get a replacement that works. Are you in the U.S.? What number are you calling to get casio support and what are they saying? I want to check that out.

Any repair centers near where you live? Yes maybe it's better to send them the CP and the cable.
You may want to try again with a fresh new computer (your friend's for example) and install the os update there again. And try another cable.
