I finally realized that the cable I tried to use is not a casio one, but it is an FX INTERFACE cable(with its software),
so it cannot work with FA 123....besides the software is an old version of the FX INTERFACE family, so my calculator
(FX 7450 G) is not listed in the ones to be chosen in the official FX INTERFACE
program that I found with the cable...but there is a list of quite recent calculators to choose in,
such as fx 9750g,cfx 9850g and cfx 9850g plus....could the transfer system run with one of this choices??
Do you think that the downloadable patch could make the cable work with casio FA 123
software??(it seems to me that I have already tried the patch, but with no effect...I will try again...)
Do u think I have any possibility to make the cable work???

FXIANDCAT should work. Always did for me and my fxi cable.

which calculator do u use killer?? and which software? Fa123?? the original FXI software in the package is on cd-rom or floppy-disk? (mine is on floppy, so it seems quite an old software, but the question is: the FXI cable is always the same or is it different in the last release??)
I cannot understand why FXI cables are different from standard CASIO cables....it seems so simple fuction what the cable must do....so I thought that all cables were identical, or, at least, perfectly compatible....but it doesn't seem to be so.....

I used the fxi cable with the Fa-123 software (patched with fxiandcat). And it worked with my cfx-9850g, and AFX2.0

I think that the new version of FX Interface that is compatible with the AFX had a different cable, than previous packages that didn't support the afx. I'm not sure on this one. If I remember correctly, I had to buy a new FXI package after getting the AFX...memory is blurred though. Plus I sold the old cable...

If you wish to use your calculator (7450) with the FA-123 and the FXI cable, you should patch the FA-123 with the FXICAT patch.
Here it is: http://www.geocities...ools/fxicat.zip
