ok people try this (on cfx)

-5 * -5

and now this:

I think if you have use the key [-] and [(-)] you can obtains different result because of priority of operation!

no bug, I get the same answer on all my calcs (including a Ti-86)

but your right, -5*-5 is equal to -5^2, except it seems that the calcs want you to put it in () to count the - sign:

the calc is doing 5*5=25 *-1=-25. if you type (-5)^2 it gives the right answer.

in essence, its not a bug, just a format problem.

It's no bug, it's how math goes :)

If you calculate (manually) -5 ^2 without ( and ) then it is -25 as the minus affects the whole sentence and because of that it is like this: - 5 * 5
But when you have (-5)^2 then the -5 is multiplied with -5 and the answer is 25

Gee... I've never thought that simple power results could cause so big discussion.
BTW: WHen I find the problem like -5^2 whilch can't solve with calc I don't waste my time and write 25 instead.
