Hi
My math book want's me to use my calculator to find the biggest value for som functions.
y = 7 sin x - 24 cos x. G-SOLVE -> MAX gives me "NOT FOUND"
33 sin x + 56 cos x. G-SOLVE -> MAX gives me y = 65
65 sin x - 72 cos x. G-SOLVE -> MAX gives me "NOT FOUND"

Why ist that? I can use "TRACE" but it takes to much time to do that :)

EDIT: Noticed that I can find MAX in y = 7 sin x - 24 cos x if the MAX is in the window but but for the smallest value I don't need to see it for the calculator to find it.
If I change the funktion to y = 7 sin x + 24 cos x I don't need to see the biggest value for it to find MAX. Why does it do that? My brother has an older Casio and it behaves the same. Can I turn this "funktion" off so it can find the MAX without I having to zoom ut for the calculator to find it?

Using the FMax function might be usefull for you.

Let's say you've allready typed the formula in graph mode at position Y1

1. Jump into Calc mode and use the FMax function <span class=OPTN' /> - [Calc], ->, Fmax
2. Get the function variable, then add 1 to spefify the first one. <span class=VARS' /> [GRPH] Y (Then 1 to specify the first one)
3. Specify lower and upper intervals for the search, then precision.

FMax(Y1, 0, 10, 5)
