your games are good, and I know there are quite a few people out their who are very happy that someone is still making games for the CFX. they are long though and since most of them dont have cables it will take them a while to take a look at your games. when they do I'm sure you will get some positive feedback.

casiokingdom, i have a question, i programming in your game Speed, and i was wondering if i had an error...

i would have a problem like 4 + ? = 98

and i can only input one number, what is the error?

maybe i typed soemthing in wrong like one of the commands was

Intg 2Ran#?I?

i used Int for this is that okay,
also on the Star Wars game there was a command that was

Norm :

i just used Norm for this, when i added a space i got an error.

the first command should look like this
Intg 2Ran#->I

and by the way, link cables aren't that expensive ~$30

Bob, you must have typed something wrong.
My programming had no errors, i check my games very carefully

i already showed what the command you had toruble with should look like.

BTW: the sign -> is the arrow key on top of the AC/ON button

You really have to get a computer-cable link.
How are you going to submit your game for the UCN comp?

he has a point there bob, the games must be submitted in .cat form, at the very least you would have to download the FA-123 software and type it in to there.

Just wondering Crimson, when did you start programming on the cfx?
For instance, what year in highschool or uni?

I've only been programming since the start of this year. I'm still in highschool.

I started at the end of eighth grade and my first calc was a CFX 9850Ga Plus, I'm now about to start college (ironically the college I'm considering is called the University of Central Florida, or UCF (no, I'm not kidding :D ) and this past year I participated in two programming competitions held there  ) in 9th grade I made several programs but never released them on the internet because I didn't have a cable, but twards the end of that year I became obsesed with making an RPG... I'm still making that RPG... I cant count how many times I've erased and started over that game, it gettes better every time but it never seems to get to a point where I can release a good demo (I did finish its first incarnation but I had no cable), anyway this current version might be the final one, I am very happy with how its turning out but unfortunately it works better on the AFX which already has ASM/C games (grrr). Anyway, if you want a description here it is: its a highly graphical RPG; you can climb trees and mountians and buildings; it scrolls in all directions (but is a sidescroller like mario) meaning that if you climb a tree off the top of the screen you might end up in another screen that shows the treetops; everyone talks and has diffrent things to say; things are dynamic: as the story progresses trees grow, tunnels open up through mountians, towns are demolished; there are sevral normal play skills you can use to get you to new places (Jump, Dash, Run) thes actually require a little skill to use properly; the battle mode is done graphically on a grid, with terain features (actually dependant apon where you are in the game), these features offer tactical bonuses and hinderance to movement, there can be up to three people in your group and five enemys (if you have ever played final fantasy tactics that was what I was trying for); the game contains three modes: normal, battle, and inside; inside mode features a top down perspective and the graphics are tiled, this is used in buildings/caves/dungons; as for the programming I used something I'm calling a Matrix background, it provides me a way to control game physics in each screen but has no visible effect that shows up on the screen: I can use it to negate gravity in a certin place or even reverse it, I use it to make objects on the screen solid so they cant be passed through, it also can make things unable to be stood on so that you cant get to places that I dont want you to even it there is a conveinient hill or tree going right to it, it also lets me place battle activators and story events. boy, now my fingers hurt.

anyway, I'm shooting for a release date of the end of the contest, kinda as an unofficial prize to the people in the Basic catagory. wish me luck!

it sounds great.

How big would it be?
Please allow the cfx to play it.

Now i better have to win the comp

the cfx cant play it in its current version, its far to big. I may downsize it for the CFX but that will take some time.

and last i heard, it ran horribly slow on the cfx :)

he has a point there bob, the games must be submitted in .cat form, at the very least you would have to download the FA-123 software and type it in to there.

that was my intention, and the link cable i'm working on only needs a flippin resistor :profanity: ,, and i think my friend has the one i need and he is probably coming over today :) hopefully he will remember to bring it

yeah, its not optimized for the cfx at all. one it is it will be much faster, but that still leaves the memory issue, if you have one of the newer cfx calcs (with 64kb) you can probably run it, but otherwise its to big.

the new cfx models are said to be not as good as the cfx 9850G, except for the mem issue.

Is that true?

do you own the newer model.

i sure could use the extra mem.

BTW: Crimson: my classmate, said that additional mem chips can be inserted at the back of the cfx, on top of the backup battery. is that true.
Do you know how much they cost and where they can be found?

I have the 32KB model, and the only way to expand the memory is to sodder in a new chip.

I remember this site, i looked at it even before i got a computer link. i just didn't realize it's martin's site.

I must say, i have learned a lot about the top programmers in Casio calculators since i joined this forum.

BTW: Do most of the top programmers come to the UCF?
It's a great forum. its easy, simple and powerful.

Thanks Simon for providing this forum for free.

there are a lot of good programmers on the forum, but many do not come, and many have stopped programming the casio's altogether. :(

Rats!!

i wish those great programmers came back to this forum or started to create games again.

We sure need some new programs on the net.

Good thing for the UCN comp, or we would never create games again.
