will someone please direct me to a thread for the answer or pleasre answer this question. How do you graph linear equations on my 9860g2 casio calulator.or can it be done whether it is finding intercepts or
plotting points? thanks in advance

Hello fixerj and welcome to UCF! You should introduce yourself.

What do you mean by linear equations? Your calc can do Y=f(x), X=f(y), and f(x,y) graphs. It just depends what mode you select. ;)

You can find intercepts by pressing (while on the graph screen): <span class=F5' /> (G-Solv) <span class=F5' /> (Intersect)

The graph screen can be accessed by pressing MENU->5. Press the <- or -> buttons while selecting an equation to edit it. To change the type of equation (like from x= to y=), press f3.

sorry about the intro error please forgive,i have since used the introduction thread to do so.my question is to find the Y and X intercept
for (3x-6y=12) how is this performed on my cal.fx-9860g2 graph function for Y won't do it.

hi
you should convert your eqution to this form ( y=(3x-12) / 6 )
and then input that into Y1(Menu/Graph) and hit <span class=EXE' /> key
after plotting;

for y-intercept two methods are available:

1- hit <span class=Shift' /> / <span class=F5' /> (G-SLV)/ <span class=F4' /> (Y-ICPT)

2- hit <span class=Shift' /> / <span class=F5' /> (G-SLV)/ <span class=F6' /> (>)/ <span class=F1' /> (Y.CAL)
and input 0 for X-Value

and for x-intercept:

hit <span class=Shift' /> / <span class=F5' /> (G-SLV)/ <span class=F6' /> (>)/ <span class=F2' /> (X.CAL)
and input 0 for Y-Value

On a side note, you will probably notice that casio takes about 5 less keystrokes than TI for this function

Another place where casio excels and TI fails... ;)
