Clearly it is influenced by the theme of Windows 8. Many other applications have already look like that.

Yeah, I really don't like how everything seems to be going down the windows metro path...

Unfortunately neither you nor me are being the 'major indifferent public' that use their software and apps.

Anyway, maybe I'll get used to it, I shouldn't be so hasty.

One can't predict his feelings in the future (i once read some long psychological article or something about this in the past)...

Back to the appearance, it doesn't seem they removed any options, though they've hidden many. (however I don't use youtube much due to my internet restrictions)

Yeah, I don't use it much either.

Yeah, I suppose not, but I know quite a few other people who didn't like it either...

Another thing is that they didn't even give a transitional "Check out the new look" message like google usually does. They just put straight into action.

I think that the new look is ok. It's a bit neater but the space isn't enough exploited.

They wanted it to be touch-friendly on tablets and the stuff...

I miss the 5-star-system. Thumbsupdown sucks, you cannot decide whether you think it was ok or very good / bad.
