Hey Guys

Looks like ross wants to host the ucn. I am indifferent to it, and he can take it.. of course im not gonna give him any of these files and mysql backups, because that requires time on my part. I am going to shut down this whole site and domain within 15 day.

All admins will be booted within 2 days
All Personal Accounts deleted withing 20 days.

Peace Out,
Simon

It is not a joke whatsoever. If ross feels up to hosting the UCN, he can go ahead and start right now. Let him be your good admin, im sure he can do a much better job than I can.. As for the backup, that requires time.. and it is easier to just delete them.

That's all.

I say we boycot ross, i have nothing aginst him personally but we cant loose this forum, simon might not allways be arround, but he does do a good job of keeping things running, there is no need for a host change. this is going to be nothing but trouble and no good will come of it.

ross, for everyones sake please back out of this!

AIM conversation with simon:

simprobe3: ross wants to host ucn
simprobe3: so.. casiocalc.org will be shutdown soon
Crimson Casio X: what?
simprobe3: he said he wanted to host it
simprobe3: that he could
simprobe3: so.. im gonna let him
simprobe3: you can still configure the buttons, just incase he backs down
simprobe3: other than that.. the forum and domain will be deleted in 15 days
Crimson Casio X: plz dont!
simprobe3: if he doesn't act soon
Crimson Casio X: why are you letting him, you are a way better host than him, he just likes causing trouble.
simprobe3: well..he says he can
simprobe3: and that is minus 1 bill for me
simprobe3: send your comment to the forum
simprobe3: either main, or existing topic
simprobe3: ill be removing all admins in 1 day
Crimson Casio X: gosh, ok...
Crimson Casio X: I think your going to get some serious protesting
simprobe3: that will be up to them
simprobe3: oh and..all personal sites will be closed in 20 days
Crimson Casio X: why did you decide to do this?
simprobe3: today
simprobe3: he said he can host it
simprobe3: so.. im gonna let him
simprobe3: if he says he is up to it..on dual oc-3's ..then he can go ahead
Crimson Casio X: but why? this is the best casio site on the web, why tear it down?
simprobe3: he can rebuild it
simprobe3: its just a forum
simprobe3: not a total site
Crimson Casio X: yeah, but all the information we have on here.
simprobe3: it will be gone
Crimson Casio X: this seriously sucks
simprobe3: what can i say
Crimson Casio X: mabey the admin can help pay for the hosting, I'd be willing
simprobe3: its not a money issue
simprobe3: ross wants to host it, ill let him
simprobe3: if he backs down..then i wont close..because then there wont be a forum for everyone
Crimson Casio X: but do you have to get rid of everything?
simprobe3: yep
Crimson Casio X: why?
simprobe3: because bacing up takes forever
simprobe3: and im not doing that
simprobe3: *backing
simprobe3: our mysql db is 20mb
simprobe3: or a bit more
simprobe3: then all the files
Crimson Casio X: heck, I'll do it you want.
simprobe3: nope
Crimson Casio X: my comp is on 24/7, i'll just let it go
simprobe3: i have cable modem
Crimson Casio X: me too
simprobe3: so.. i can do it..but i just dont want to
simprobe3: its not just downloading a file
simprobe3: it is converting it to whatever host manager software he has
simprobe3: and all that bad shit
simprobe3: adn then..all the setttings are different
Crimson Casio X: cant you just transfer the domain to him?
simprobe3: no
simprobe3: its under my name
simprobe3: for the next 3 years
Crimson Casio X: mabey he could pay you what you pay for the domain
simprobe3: he wont
simprobe3: no one will
Crimson Casio X: why not?
simprobe3: what is he gonna do..send me a $30 check in the mail?
simprobe3: lol
simprobe3: jus for a domain
Crimson Casio X: mabey, i dont know...
Crimson Casio X: do you have his AIM name? I'd like to verbally assualt him if you dont mind.
simprobe3: i dont
simprobe3: i dunno what he uses
simprobe3: does he not list it in his profile
simprobe3: in ucf
Crimson Casio X: i havent checked
Crimson Casio X: I mean, the ucn hasn't been this active in a long time, all sorts of people are coming back after being away, we have the contest and all sorts of other things happening... why now?
simprobe3: i dunno
simprobe3: ross offered to host now
Crimson Casio X: simon, Im begging you not to do this, for everyones sake.
simprobe3: we will see
simprobe3: ill choose in a few days
simprobe3: you have a bit of time left

everyone, if you dont want this to happen post here or tell simon or ross personally!

well if simon wants to close this forum it's ok to me, since he host all the stuff and pays the bills....
if you really close it simon, thanks for your great effort in the last 2 or 3 years and thanks for helping me and the other original crew with starting this forum and built up to what it's now...

i really dont understand what's up...
ross is funny, i like talking to him on icq and chatting with him in the forum.
i dont like the biting of the admins and stuff like that, i am sorry about that....

well thanks for everything simon....
if you really close the forum, i wont come back again...
please stop this childish crap, and ross, grandpa, please stop that crap.

it's your decision simon, i agree to your choice no problem about that...
Bye.

No, no, no & no !!!
Simon you can't do that!! And I think you mustn't ... Me too I have nothing against Ross but I think you must show other valuable reasons in order to take such an important decision !!

Think about all the hours you spent on this forum, the time you've taken to read posts and updating it !! You will destroy a 2 year (or more !!!!) great effort in 5 minutes within 2 clicks ... that's bad!! If you do it, I'm really convinced you will feel remorse

This is YOUR forum, but we are ITS users ! Think about a great society that decides to close their stock exchange !! Hmm what will say the customers ?? That's *impossible* since the society has a good buisness!

Now translate this example to your forum ... You can't do that!!

But let's precise some points ... you'll leave the forum to Ross, right. But you'll clear all the database ... right too. But what about making a backup of it on our Hard disk's ?? Someone who got an xDsl connection will be able to get it, and give it back to Ross in order to retablish it again !!

Ross wants to be the new boss here ? Okay let him show us he is !!
But think again simon, you can't do that ...

i dont understand you guys...
i know all of you.... simprobe and ross longer than anyone on this forum...
i know you since our casio fan forum time on cpa...
cant we just be the old crew again? :(

man simprobe you know ross, he didnt mean you should shut down all the forum...
he is as sarcastic and ironic as i am....
but i really dislike the atmosphere we have here now...
i feel like i dont know any of you guys....
stop this agressive atmosphere.... kick me and ross and all you dont want to see again out of the forum, but dont delete all the work all the thousand posts, all the hundred members... this is one of the rare sites i still regularly visit in the internet-
you know i deleted all my accounts in other forums, but i am still here....

well have a nice day y'all.

ok bytie, you and simon and ross, you are propably the old crew, but for us "normal" members, the UCF has become a part of our life. so i think that we could work for that a part of our life doesn't die!

We are members and a part of the UCF, but the UCF is also a part of us!
When the UCF dies, a part of us dies.

Please understand us why we want to keep the UCF alive!

WTF is happening?
Simprobe - how old are you? You act just like a 6 yr old child.
You really need to see this stuff that people write here?
Remember the change from CPA->UCN? This thread is not better.

You two are considered as a UCF history.
I still remember the old times chatting all day with Killer, Bytie and Simon.
I still remember ross was the ONLY reason I came to knew and join this forum, I still remember my best BASIC game ever, Whack It!, remember ross?
