    Classpad 330

Hi there!

I've registered my OS 3.0 key on the Casio website with Classpad manager 64-bit.

The download for Classpad manager that I can get gives me an installer which refuses the same key (from the sticker in the CD-satchel) that the website allows.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Uh, no. How would I do that?

What would be the most effective way to contact them?

Try contacting them on this page, a phone call may be better than an email (in my experience). ;) http://www.casio.edu.../contact_us.php

We've had this issue before, too. I think the formats of the install key and serial number are different. Best is to contact CASIO to make sure.

Okay, so here's what I've got.
  • The Key-Stickers that come in the CD-slip case (with the classpad) are for the trial version. (From Casio)
  • The Trial version has no way to enter a key. (Me)
  • The aforementioned key works on the Casio Website, but not on the installer it gives you. (Me)
  • In order to get the emulator, you have to pay for it separately. (From Casio)
Here's a transcript of my email exchange.

I have registered my Class pad 330's OS key on the website, with class pad manager x64. The installer that I can download does not accept the key, even if I copy the key from the website. Could the I have the key copied/moved to the 32bit version so that I can try that installer?

Thanks.

Can you please confirm whether you have a cd copy of the emulator software?

I have a CD (that came with the classpad) with the trial version of the software - I could not find the full version or anyway to turn it into the full version.

I have attached an image of the CD-Key sticker in the CD slip cover case (IMG_20130315_154441.jpg), and an screenshot of the error (casio_classpadmanager_code_error.png).

Also, as a result of me trying to de-register the code with the 64-bit version at https://edu.casio.co...ad/cate_cp.htmlthe website now no longer accepts the code.

The CD that you have taken a picture of which comes with the classpad is not the emulator, it is actually the utilities disc. This disc just includes information like the users guide. In order to get the emulators full version you will need to purchase an emulator software separately.

But the website accepted the key - if the key isn't for the emulator, what is it for?

Depending on how long ago you purchased the classpad it may have included a 30 day trial of the emulator. The key code was only useful for this 30 day trial not the full licence. Either way to use the full licence you will need to purchase the full CD from a retail store and cannot use this keycode. For a full list of our retail stores please visit http://www.casio.edu...here_to_buy.php

What I don't get is
  • Why does the trial version need a key?
  • Why package the key if the trial version did not even need it (it doesn't ask for one)?
  • Why would the website accept the key for the full version if it were just for the trial?
What is other people's experience with this software? Did you have to buy it separately or did it come with the class pad?

Why does the trial version need a key?

If you bought your classpad a while back, it could be that at one point in time the trial version wasn't available to everyone, only those who actually owned a classpad. I'm just guessing here, not really sure. It is strange though.

Not sure at all...

The thing is I've only ever installed the trial version from the disc, and (attempted to install) the full version from the website. I have not for the life of me, been able to find some way to convert the trial version.

I wonder if this key was for the CP Manager version 3.05 64-bit? (Did you enter the key in "ClassPad Manager series for Windows7 64bit" part?) Because it is the only version that you need to register your key on their website to be able to download it.

I put the key into the 64-bit option, and got the installer. The 64-bit installer rejects my key.

Yes ClassPad Manager needs to be purchased separately.

But the reason you had to enter a key to be able to download it, I think is because CASIO initially wanted to charge people for 64-bit drivers (CPManager 3.05 was the first 64-bit enabled version); requiring a key for trial version doesn't make sense otherwise.

However since the newer version 3.06 the installers in their site contain the 64-bit drivers too, so you shouldn't need to download the 3.05 version at all.
