USB? That's going to be tricky. A COM cable is easier, there are many designs for that on the web (the CFX and fx cables are identical to the AFX one). There are several different USB<->COM adapters if your motherboard manufacturer "forgot" the COM port, but unfortunately only a few of them work with the transfer software. I didn't bother with them because I when I chose my motherboard, I discarded all COM-less ones, mainly for ... guess what: Casio calculator connectivity with my existing cable. I remember reading a report about a working adapter about a year ago, but I can't remember where. You will have to search for such reports yourself, sorry.

With your 9860, there are very limited possibilities to get around the PC<->2.55m-jack cable. I'm sure you already figured out how to hook the 9860 up to the PC, and with the calc<->calc cable and the AFX's hidden CFX receive mode (enter LINK menu, press and release F4, then F5, then F6) you can get Casio-Basic programs from the 9860 to the AFX. Unfortunately, no other data types are supported (most notably no AFX add-ins :(), and it's one way only.

Oke thanks, by the way I used AFX 2.0.

Could have sworn there was a 9860 in your calculator list when I wrote that post. Oh well, that leaves the COM cable with USB adapter then. Good luck, the software is very picky about the adapters. If I remember correctly, even USB hubs between PC and adapter can be a problem.
