    Casio 9860g

I have a 9860g and my son was using it to solve trigonometry equations. When used the cos tan and sine functions the answers came up totally different and wrong to the answer I received using another calculator I checked it several times as to why cos 45 answer on my 9860g was different to the cos45 answer I got on another calculator . Can some one please explain why this has occurred. Any help will be appreciated

Check the angle mode, for calculate the cos of 45 degree.

Also you have to know that equations containing trigonometry functions usually have infinite solutions

On the fx-9860gii you can change the angle mode to: degrees, radians, or gradians.

Degrees are the most common measurement, 360 degrees make up a full circle.

Radians are also common in High School maths and beyond, 2π radians make up a full circle.

Gradians are not so common, gradians are equal to 9/10ths of a degree. 400 gradians make up a full circle.

To switch the angle mode between degrees, radians or gradians press Shift, MENU and then scroll down to Angle:, then press F1 for Degrees, F2 for Radians or F3 for Gradians.
