I have been playing with this for a while.
You can use many wersions of command.com - this one from drive A: or from DOS 6.22 or earlier
quit good is command.com from Datalight company - can be found at theirs webpage.
You can link an icon to a:\command.com or launch it from any flie explorer (like Linl).
But to run a command like 'dir' you will have to fake the ENTER key - I wrote an assembly TSR program that can do this called enter.com.
I also made a ramdisk driver that can be loaded from the command line,
if you need more LOW DOS memory - here you are use my maxmem.exe.
Everything is build in as a single package AfxPC, you can
download it here
Read all the documentation files, and be sure to send corect ctload program (2,7Kb long).
If future please write more specific question.
And I won't answer silly questions.

to AMDrozd: normal user won't need command.com for anything it is better to use some other graphical file explorers (just like using winXX and it's command.com).
BTW hello to yet another member from Poland.

Still not right!you should have read my post
I said that command.com from DOS ver 6.22 or earlier DO work (DOS 6.22 was first made by Microsoft). There are some usefull programs that run under 3.something - ed (line editor), debug (a smaller one), and many more.
So you didn't read my post.

Ok I admit I've only tried DOS 6.2 :-) but as far as i know all MS DOS versions (since 3 or so) are made by MS the
others are bought, including the sources, from another DOS distributor (don't remember the name right now)
