Im not sure if this is what you mean, but it sound like your calc is on "Fix" go into the setup and change it to Norm (1 or 2).

it sounds to me more like the calc is in engineering mode (Eng)

BTW: After two years of working with AFX I still don't know what is the difference between Norm1 and Norm2 :)

Are you sentimental? Or maybe superstitious?
Yeah, there are some things in our calcs which are still a deep secret for us.
And philosophic question appears: should we discover them?

*inexpressable mirth*

of course we should discover them! its the new frontieer, right up there with Space and the Oceans!

To boldly go where no calculator user has gone before, that is our mission

now that I think about it we could make a really good religious analogy out of this (sorry if I offend anyone), think about it:

Casio could represent god, mysterious, confusing, unatainable. The tech support guys could be priests, raising more questions than they have answers to. And so on...

Norm1 turn results under 0.001 into "scientific form" like 1e-03
Norm2 do it only under 1e-10

CrimsonCasio - Are you alright? I've been away for awhile, my Internet wasn't working.

Fix0 puts a decimal point on the right and (plz don't hurt me) I don't know what Gauss/Simpson does.
I don't think anyone has the problem of irrational decimals and scientific notation appearing on the screen during games. People would think you're crazy. Speaking of crazy, the hackers could be demons trying to foil Casio's plans and then there's...

Gauss/Simpson (AFX) lets you choose between these two methods to perform numerical integration
