Netforce
Option 1: Integration with CasioCorner (has some advantages but the old db will probably be lost - however, we could preserve this forum and make it an archive-function)
Option 2: Hosted beside CasioCorner (no changes to the original forum, preserve of posts, members, etc., just as it is now - later maybe some connections between both but the forum will stay as a standalone forum & community)
Hosting:
Total traffic: 4 GB
Disk Quota: 75 mb
DB-Space: not qualified
When I mail to my hosting, I think they will give me more space/traffic if needed.

2072
Unlimited traffic
- 100 Mb database
- ~150 Mb disk space left
- fast server, I've never had any trouble. Very good technical support.

- Stand-alone forum only (I won't create a front page, I personnaly think there is sufficient other sites about Casio).
- No change at all to the current forum (everything is already working as you can see)

I'm a very experienced PHP/HTML/JAVASCRIPT programmer which means I can create useful things for the forum (evolutions etc...), and Cross-server integration is possible (I've already done it on Graph100.com).

rjstephens
500MB space
5gb bandwith
fast servers
my host has good technical support

forum would stay as it is (same users, db, etc.)
frontpage would be added along with filesharing

i have a lot of experience in html programming and i am good at getting scripts to work

rstweb
unlimited traffic
- 500mb webspace (200mb are avaiable for UCN)
- database unlimited
- PHP with ASP-Support

the userpages could stay (10MB per user), but MySQL isn't avaiable for userpages. propably it will, but you have to ask and i will see how many need one. the userpages will get their own subdomain and their own mailadress. the administartion of the usersites (upload) has to be done via a webinterface.

If I've forgotten anyone please tell me.

ok, thats it people, I dont see a point to continuing this any longer... and by a landslide vote 2072 inherits ownership of the UCN!

Congrads 2072!

I'm a bit confused, but I think you just got mixed up with whos leaving. Here, I'll summerize it for everyones benifit.

Simon, Killer, and Bytefish are all leaving (more or less for good), 2072 is taking over hosting the forum, and as far as I know execpt for the guys that are leaving the Admin team is remaining the same (though I have purposed to elect some moderators to help with the move).

and is a moderator the same as an admin?

can i become one?

can my title be changed to "Casio Electronic Engineer" ?

no

lol, possibly, no one has responded to my purposal yet, but if they agree then you would have to be nominated by one of the existing Admin, then you would become a moderator (less power than an admin, but more than a normal member... basically anything you could do to your posts you could do to other peoples, and more). Thses moderators would be temporary, but I think that one should be made an admin when the time is up.

as for changing you title, no... at least not right now. we have some plans for that kind of stuff.

Ok, 2072 and I are working on getting this transfered quiet and peacefully.. he has provided me with some necessary information about his host.. Transfer will be started when killer comes back, then we will finnally close this creation of ours, and hand it over to newer hands. You can expect a few closing words and remarks from us when we leave. As of now, use this forum as you have for the past few years. Dont worry..it will stay how it currently is until you are further informed. Everyone will know the day before the transfer. 2072, you will know a week in advance, or more. Everyone enjoy the last few days under my rule!!!! LOL...

After this forum is gone, you wont see me at all, most likely... same position with killer. WEll..actually..you will see me if you are part of the old crew and talk to me on AIM.

If any of you have anything to ask ME, please go ahead and do so while this forum is around.

Thanks,
Simon

Why is everybody so upset about some connections between the UCF and CC?
The UCF will stay exactly as it is (as a standalone forum & community).
Because both sites are on different servers it's not possible to make big connections.
Don't worry!!

I think you would have done much better if you hadn't suggested deleating all the posts, while I think that since the ucn is a network and should thus be closley connected to other sites, physical tourtur would have been preferable to most members than losing all the posts. so I think that pretty much ruined your chances once people had that associated with you (i know i talked to one person afterward and he didn't know you were offering to leave the board unchanged). plus there's the little fact of that every one of the leaving admin HATE phpnuke... I dont know why, I've asked 3 times and no one ever responded :( ... I guess someone has to take killers job...

ah well, I sure everything will work out. :)

Don't worry, the forum will stay has it is...

By co-operation I meant I could add a tab in the bottom of the main page with Casiocorner latest news, downloads, etc... of course this tab will be loaded only after the main forum page so nobody would be annoyed. If you really don't want this co-operation I won't add it, if I choosed to co-operate with Casiocorner that's because I thought it would be useful.
I also plan to add a link section like it used to be on the UCF some hosts ago ;-)

If I don't like phpNuke it's because I don't like things that think instead of me, I like to control everything.
I think that phpNuke is messy and lacks of originality (too much web site are based on phpnuke).

NOTE: As I said the forum will be a stand-alone one, if you have a site below .casiocalc.org, it will be lost, so you have to host your site elsewhere, however I will create a redirection to your new address.
