It has been nearly 2 months since starting of the C/Asm and Basic game competition.
So I'd like to know what is the progress of the game developement of all participants.
Ofcourse, do not say what your game will be just mention about the progress and your feelings about finishing the game.

I am mostly interested in C/ASM category, but Basic programmers can reply too.

My developement state:
90% main game engine (essential stuff)
80% graphics
10% minor game code
0% game menus
0% quality assurance

I am quite sure that game will be finished on time (before december). I need do all those less important, but still quite affecting the gameplay stuff.
Roeoender.

i've finished one game and a quarter finished my second. i haven't decided which one to submit. Perhaps the first (i think it's more original)

BTW: which one rates better: 1) originality or 2) story line (rpg)

Casio has had my calc for over a month and now that I finally have it back I have to send it back in to get my OS back :( I sent them a letter today to confirm that they would fix it. An emulator sure would be nice :)

if ur calc is a CFX then i suggest you have a look at caioCOM as that has a built in emulator, as well as code highlighting, password cracker, mattix and list viewer, and program size info.

i use it from time to time, but it occasionally performs and illegal command and freezes up my computer. Besides the who needs a emulator when you have your calc right beside you.

In theory you can also communicate AFX->CFX but this would need one half of the prog made in ASM and the other made
in BASIC and you would need a GOOD sync since basic is simply too slow...

Good,good,good. :D
It would be even better if people that make BASIC games for the comp check if their game works good on other models (I have AFX and long ago, before C/ASM "era" I wanted to see some of the Basic games but those that was made on CFXs didn't work correctly).
Ofcourse you are not obligated to do it (working on your model is sufficient for the comp).
In another topic you can discuss the incompatibilities of BASIC between models.

I just want to bring up this topic again.

A lot of people in Basic category have not submited their games.
Can you tell us how far you were/are in dev. process? Just for curiosity.
And the asm/c (like me) can reply too.

Engine: 40%
Graphics: 70%
Storys&Maps: 5%
System drivers: 95%
Menus: 80%
Mouse & Keyboard handler: 100%
Computer Applications: 95%

Networking: 60%

QA: Done while dev. so till now: 95% smile.gif

Overall: 60%-70%

I have to say that my game will probably only be multiplayer at release date (1.12.2003) since
i won't have enough time to code the ai.
Anyways the ai is an externel program. Anyone can write his own when i say you the specs.
I'll make the plugin interface till the final version.

PC Applications include till now: Graphics Editor (Tiles Editor) and MAP editor. They both work fine.

Executable size: ~37KB
Compressed size: ~9KB
Current Version: 0.24
Last stable version: 0.24
Latest changes: 01.11.2003

NOTE: Why doesn't my signature work, It's on Crimson's server, same as other members? It stays there for a day and then gets wiped off.
