Hi there, does anyone know the self-test key combo for the Casio Fx9860GIII? I have an input/output error and my storage memory was full, so this is kind of a last ditch effort to try and save my calculator.

After this I might take it apart and yeah. Idk.

Many thanks!!

The key combo is OPTN [x10x] + [AC/ON] while the calculator is off, and then F1 9.

Your problem sounds like a flash read/write failure like my fx-9750GIII that was discovered 4 years ago. Check the "Characteristic" section to see if any one of them matches your situation:

I don't know how to respond directly to you; I am new, but thank you very much for replying! I will test this out. The only thing is that I do not know how to execute a syscall. Do I just type it in? Much appreciated, thanks!
Also how am I meant to add the C.Basic file if my storage memory is unchangeable? I will at least try it, thanks!!!!! :) :) :)

In C.Basic program editor, press Shift 5 and search "Syscall". Select it and type 0X205, then execute it.

That's the caveat of my workaround, as you cannot execute syscall in Casio Basic except you have an add-in that does it for you (in which C.Basic is probably the only add-in that theoretically supports all syscalls). If you don't have it after your storage is locked... well there is nothing you can do at the moment.

Have you installed any 3rd-party add-ins before?

Yes I have installed 3rd party add-ins, which I am 95% sure caused the problem. The program is called Terrario and there was a 35kB heap for the Casio fx9860GIII, but that was like a dumbed down version compared to the Casio fx9860GII version, which apparently had more memory. I think that the program filled up all the memory, but I don't know.

In the ROM TEST diagnostic area it says FLASH W/R ---- OK

So I don't know what the issue is :(
I used to have many add-ins but I deleted them to save space, plus did a few resets for school so my back-ups got removed :(

Basically everything that I could've done I removed on purpose or accidentally before this error occured :(
When I do factory testing it says CESG502 driver unavailable :(
Also there is a cash test but i can't select anything
