Thats bad, do you have a casio original PC-calc. interface or you made one? I test my link cable using windows "hyperterminal" (thanks to netforce, with the "making link cables for dummies :P " document in casiocorner).

Sometimes you had transferred files?

For example, in FA-123 check the link menu, then choose "communications", do you have selected the correct com port?

Or in the Tool menu, choose in "model type" the correct casio calculator model. Maybe your com port its damaged , try to use other.

There is a way to check the AFX com port, but you need another calculator of the same model (any algebra FX model I think so).

Well try this:
"plug the link cable to your pc, without connecting your calculator. Start your pc if you not already done this, now start a program which let you manually write to you comports. Hyperterminal for example, this program is included in windows, if it's not installed get your Windows CD and install it.

Now, start the program and choose the comport you did connected your cable to. (usually com2 as com1 is mostly used for the mouse.)

bit per second: 9600 databits: 8 parity: none stopbit: 2 Xon/Xoff control: none.

Now, if you type something in the pc will send it to the cable. type something. Nothing should appear on your screen, if however it does appear on your screen you did something wrong and should check your cable again.

Ok nothing appears, now connect the top and middle of the 2.5 mm plug with each other. type something, your name for instance. If it appears correctly on your screen the data is send and received with succes! however of it doesn't appear (correct) there is something wrong and you should check everything again. (note: make sure you connected the top and middle firmly, but it usually already works if you put it between your lips. Where do those tinkles come from?)"

With this you will check the Com port of your PC and your link cable, if both are good your calc. serial port its damaged :( (Or maybe another member with more knowledge can help you later)

So you can see my pic. Yes!!!! I changed my file storage host, which i think allows remote access of files. I now use free host

Regarding the COM port, i tried using the other ports in the past (COM 2, COM 3) however, in the end only COM 1 allowed me to transmit and receive programs.

Remember that you need to connect the calculator, turn on the calc. and later the PC.

That's wrong (even if it's written in Casio's manuel).

You should verify your bios settings and check for IRQ conflicts.

if you just have 1 com port set the communication port to "Com 1" and everything should be fine.
Please write back if it's working now.
It should help users with the same problem. :)
Bye.
