Crimson, you still want us members to go to your group right? I think the chat is good, as it unites members.
BTW: i'm having trouble uploading my avatar. i'll keep trying to see if i can fix it.
Also, i hope some of the French forum guys come over to this forum once in a while, as i got to know a few of them (eg. Maitre Kiwi).
The UCF is back! hurray!

It is the 3rd incarnation of the UCN for me (CPA->UCN #1->UCN#2->UCN2072).
I am sure that the UCN will live long.
Roeoender.
Ps. I wonder how long casio calcs (CFX, AFX) will be used (longer than HP48?).

as for how long our calcs will be used, I'd speculate our grandkids will be using them in third grade math somewhere down the road... either that or our math skills will be so degraded that we will have to have our calcs all our lives just to get through the day

But I am sure that some of the UCN's veterans will use their calcs even in the quantum-computing era.
As for me programming for this little machine is simply more attractive than for those 1GB,3GHz, dual-proc monsters.

BTW: i think calcs to degrade our math skills, as i'm already finding simple math harder than when in year 7. eg. 123+879
Although, i still love programming my calc.

Yes thats the same for me ...Universal Casio Network in the year 2072 A.D. is a quite optimistic speculation.

you don'T have to worry about different OS'ses, different hardware and so on so no driver development!
It also is more interresting to program a calc only very few can program on.
How many do you think can program the calc in c/asm
I think it are about 30 (incl. french, excl. casio jap.)
I think this is worldwide since if you would do it without joining graph100.com / UCN it would be pretty hard to find out. ...
