I've recieved this question from a user, and couldn't answer it:

In the battery compartment, where the back- up battery is, there are 3 "conectors", 2 in the highest level and 1 in the lowest. What is their function?

You could use a volt-meter and test if there is any voltage over the conectors. I could do it, but I'm in school now. Maybe when I come home. If you do it... be carefull. I think that you can damage you calc.

the 2 highest connectors are the same. open the calculator and you will see it.

Suggestion(Just an idea). All casio calc. have DC power. But the connectors could maybe be used as AC power?. I don't know.

they could but i think it would be a little bit too difficult to bring all components that are needed in the calculator!

NOW I have found out something:
This morning I took my volt-meter and pressed the ac button on the calculator. Then I connected one of the volt-meter cables to the bottom "connector" and the second one to the top left "connector", the volt-meter showed 3V, the backup batterys voltage. And then I connected the second kable to the top right "connector". And I showed 5,6 volt. Hmm I have to replace my batteries so I get 6V. So RSTWEB the to top connectors are the same. You can do the same. But be carefull, if you do it the wrong way you can damage your calc. Only do it if you know what you do


Why should casio build 3 connectors there?
1: It could be uses as a test thing when they produce the axf. They connect batteries and check if everything is ok.

2: Debugging. If your calculator is broken, the firm that fixes your calc. can check if the voltage is ok.

I can't think of anything else. I think that the bottom "connector" is -. But I'm not sure. And I can't think of any use.

I don't know if I had I wrong, but I was talking about AXF. Becuse Mohamed has an afx I thougt that he was talking about that. (We should have afx and cfx subforums) And if you just take of the battery lid at the back of the calculator you can see the "connector" one just below the backup battery and the two others at the top. I did't rip may calculator apart
I hope Mohamed reads this and corrects me if I'm wrong. I have checked out why they are there on the AFX, the AFX 2 to be sure.

i thought it was about the cfx.
nowhere is a hint if this topic should be about the cfx or afx. if there were subforums for cfx and afx it couldn't happened. the problem at the topic "BASIC libraries 2.00 released" wouldn't happened, too, if we had subforums.

Well, I'm back.
And yes, I was talking about AFX.
So what did we reach?
They're to measure battery voltage?
I think not.

Well I think that it is very simple:

To run the tests, after the AFX have been built in CASIO's factory, whereas insert batteries in it (what is difficult to do for a robot) the calc is just put on something that power the calc just using 2 contacts...

well, that seems to be the right answer. Becuse they have to test every chip on the afx, and they don't want to connect batteries, becuse it takes to much time. So they just connect some ac power. I found out that you can easily test the voltage of your batterise and check if you need the change them.
