My official calculator cable has broken and I don't know what the problem is. Neither computer or calculator can read each other. EVERYTHING on the cable is intact, I can open the head and view what's inside. I'll describe it: The top is very flexible too much, is yours? Just before it goes into the head which is covered by the black case, it has an exterior cut. Just inside the clear plastic cover over the wires is sort of severed. THe wires go into the transitor and out and there is not a single broken wire in the cable. As it goes into the other side, there is a broken white string coming out of the same place as the wires. I have heard about all of you being able to cheaply build a cable. What can I do if I have ALL the parts of the official Casio cable? I'm begging you to help me, this has made me very upset.

I know this is too much to ask, but my finished game is on the calc and I would be so grateful if I could have a late entry into the competition. I AM NOT LYING, this has severly damaged my work and I can't do anything right now. If you want, I can type up the code, looking at the calc but it will take till the 3rd November. I can upload it at school and use their cable.

if you have all the parts for the cable, then you could build an official cable, i have the circuit diagra, on My Site click on link cables, then on Official. if it dosnt work, then try building the unofficail cable, if you bought the officail cable, is it still in warranty?

Thanks, your site shows you how to put it together but mine is already together, I need to find the fault and replace it as replacing the whole thing is too expensive (may as well get a new calc, but then I still need the cable, hey the cable works for AFX, that came out in 1998???). Where do you think it is malfunctioning?

About hosting, I've tested Crimson's domain and it is perfect in every aspect, why can't I login, maybe it's because I'm using my laptop... andy, nothing is wrong in the middle, I think it's most likely part 1, if not part 10, I'm afraid if I do it and it doesn't work...

@Genesis: the Andy's unnoficial cable its so good, but also you can use the MAX233 IC (courtesy of maitre kiwi :P )and you would not need 4 of the capacitors (more easy to make and test). The other capacitor, from pin 3 (V output) could be useless, its for eliminate noise i think but preferably use it.

It would be good that you watch the kiwi design for the max233.

Well, if you want to buy a new one, i know a place in Perth who sells a comp cable for A$47. i'm using this cable. it's not official but it's half the price. Take a look. it's a place in Perth and will take only a few days for you to receive it.

1. because I write asm/c programs and can't test them on PC since they use 100% direct hardware access (no itnerrupts) and so are not compatible.

2. Yes I can. Can you give me a 32x32 logo?

Btw. do you see the page? crimson said he only sees the intro and then an error page...

well, lets see... I'm hosting one of the "Big Three" forums, and 10 other sites, yet I still have ~700mb left... and for an extra $5 I get 1000mb more... I'm working on three professionally hosted sites each of which will pay me back about 3 times what it costs me to host them per month, so I dont see a reason to have an upper limit to the number of sites I can host... do you? technically he is giving away web space for free, hes hosting the ucf remember

And I know he has php support (and unlike me knows how to use it...but I'm working on that), and MySQL, and everything else is client side not server side. I think i have more space than him (and mabey more bandwidth), but if you were to ask me who I would prefer host the ucf I'd still say him since he has so much more experiance and knowlege of this kind of stuff.

well you do have more disc space than I (I've only 200Mb + 100Mb MySQL). I have unlimited traffic but I don't know for the bandwidth.

hehe, sounds like a big con! I've never liked internet marketing and deals, so i'm not going to sign up. Sorry.

Besides, the only proper way to earn money is by getting a job, which i don't yet have.
