How do I take a derivative with a Casio CFX-9850GB Plus? What about an integral? Are there more than one way to do both? It should be really simple, but the manuel has me utterly confused. Thanks,

firstly welcome to the UCF.

as i have a CFX and am in yr 12 this year, i hope i can help. btw how old are you? where do you live? i live in australia. knowing where you live will be useful in helping you with your math problems.

this is how you take a derivative of a equation:

it should look like this on your calc: (i'm using the equation 3x squared (3x2)for an example) and you want to know the derivative of it when x=2)

d/dx(3x2,2)
press EXE and it solves
# you can find d/dx by pressing <span class=OPTN' /> + <span class=F4' /> + <span class=F2' />
to integrate a equation, use /dx (<span class=F4' /> instead of <span class=F2' />)

i hope it will help you, although doing it algebraicly is better than with a calc, as you can understand it better.
