For the persons who didn't understand what SRM said: he had made a great Basic game, and he's now porting it with MLC so i bet the result will be great ^_^

(Orwell, c'?tait du langage cod? !!! )

I hope I'll have space, time, knowledge and courage enought to do it. The little I made work, so it's a good sign.

i see some games in the file sharing that use the FXI format, as far as i can tell its impossible to convert a FXI MLC game to .CAT, the transfer really messes up the code. if at all possible anyone using the FXI sofware needs to use the FA-123 to transmit MLC games and/or manually convert them to text (which can then quickly be converted to CAT). here's a link to a patch to make the FA-123 work with the FXI cable: http://perso.wanadoo...s/fxiandcat.zip

you need to provide at least the .txt version of your game so that everyone can play it.

EDIT: fixed link.

On ticalc.org I saw an article that criticizes TI-BASIC, with some comments from ti community. Well, maybe it is good place to mention about MLC? So Ti-people would know it's existence. Look at ticalc.org latest article.

oh they know, and it will probably make its way to ticalc.org eventually (they take a really long time to feature things). once MLC86 is done we'll send that in to them and hopefully it will get featured... in the mean time im going all over the place promoting it by hand ;)

so I want to explain crimson if you don't know martin (though you should :) )

YOu can only if you can run assembler programs (e.g. machine coder) and
this is only possible if you remove the ROM, change the OS (record it new) and solder it again.

PS: Your warranty will be void if you do so :D

I think If I would have AFX source code, I could translate interpreter into CP C++.

I think somebody started working on a RPG for MLC:

Posted Image
and I written a news article about it on my website:
http://omnimaga.earthforge.com

Basically its a sequel to a never finished BASIC RPG for the TI-86, which looked like a zelda game but with turn based battles and it looks promising so far. I hope the programmer will not exceed the program size limit which is 9.1 KB because I want to try this game once the TI-83+ Silver Edition version of MLC will come out.

MLC look really promising so far and I hope to try it soon on my real calc (not an emulator ;) ), however since I'm the kind of guy that like to push programming language to their maximum and I write really really really huge RPGs I might have problem dealing with the code limit. Just to give you an idea this is what I can do in BASIC on my TI-83+SE using a few ASM libraries and it's like 68kb huge  :

For the TI-83+SE version we are planning on using the extra RAM pages that the 83+ dont have (96kb) to extend the code limit from 9.1 kb to 24 kb, so that might help me a lot to make my games. The only downside is that they will not be compatible with the regular 83+ and the 86, but I'm sure they will work on the Graph 100/AFX since the RAM is a lot higher :)

well, MLC AFX is being compleatly reworked now, we're droping the ti-86 and below to a 1.0 version of MLC and making everything at the level of the AFX "2.0" and seriously upgrading the features (additional colors, massive new commands, multiple picture files, etc), the AFX will probably be the lowest level calc supported (out of ti89, hp49g+, afx, and possibly voyage and classpad)... therefor much of the new MLC will be limited to what the afx can do, not what the ti83 can do >_> (i know this will make you all very happy). we allso intend to let MLC2.0 run MLC1.0 programs, though not vice versa.

as for installing the current MLC, i wouldnt worry about it just yet, wait for the next release. :)

oh yeah, it changes just about everything, MLCafx will be 2.0, so it will be MUCH more powerfull (meaning a bit more work for you and Marco... but it should be fun ;) )

sprites will be 256x256 max size so we need to update the sprite editor a bit :)

Erm, just a word about sprites:
gxLib is not designed to draw such huge sprites, so if you still use my lib for grayscales like in the current version you will have to split the sprites into different parts during the "tokenization" (max ~ 64*64) ;)

you know, im not really sure if we are using your lib anymore, Marco is doing the coding now and he is the Pascal guru, i believe we are using more or less 100% his code for this (for the AFX only portions at least, the idea is to have a core file to handle things not platform dependant)

Yeah, it's 100% marco's code (though he studied the Graph100 guide and the other libs of course)

Anyway, the most changes will affect the VM and I do the compiler.
So mainly the syntax changes are interresting for me.

2. What about C/ASM Programs competition?! I?ve sent in my program and it was pointless. It wasn?t even marked and given to afx users. It?s a pity     :banghead:
