Saltire is selling ClassPads for 99 dollars, US. Does this mean that there will be a new model or is Casio dumping the ClassPad?

CASIO ClassPad 300 OS Version 2.00 2x, CASIO ALgebra FX 2.0 Plus, CASIO CFX-9970G, CASIO CFX-9950GB+, CASIO fx-6300G, CASIO fx-570, CASIO fx-991MS and so on... Huh!!!

Well, I am not sure about that, but maybe a ClassPad 400 will come out if the ClassPad project is not over in the next years. With the OS update function, the ClassPad does not have to be improved as the Algebra was!

This is definitely the biggest shame in the history of the ClassPad. The old ClassPad 300 is being dumped all the time. I paid mine ClassPad $250 two years ago (in November 2003, when it was officially released; that was its official price in Paris) and now I can know its real price. Just remember well, the technology for the ClassPad was not improved so much in the past two years so that the ClassPad can be 2,5 times cheaper. Only if Casio makes the OS version 3 update not to be free, I guarantee that Saltire will get a very nervous letter from me. We have given the money for the OS version 3 to be developed, and it cannot be received from this $99 ClassPads. However, the new ClassPad 300 Plus does not have a speaker, so that I think that for a developer, a $99 ClassPad 300 is more preferable. However, please note this: A thing's value cannot be greater than its price. You can conclude the real value of the ClassPad project from this. See you soon!

I think that they sell classpad at 99$ to disencumber them of the "old" classpad.

Brian says that there is NO reason to think that the OS v3 would not be free....

Try to not complay about things that has not happened yet <_< , I paid my classpad in mexican pesos $2459, at that time was a little bit cheaper than the voyage 200 but there was no ti-89 titanium...

let?s wait for the new OS and then say wathewer you want (whitout making some people feel bad)... :)

I can tell you for a fact that $99 is much less than the cost to classpad.org.

Here's a thought. Maybe classpad.org only has a few ClassPad 300s left and want to clear them out so they only have the ClassPad 300+ (which is just a ClassPad 300 with a new screen that is brighter). Maybe they have so few 300s that selling it for below their cost is no big deal. Just a thought....

What about no free OS 3.0 upgrade??

I will say this for the last time. Nobody has ever said that OS 3.0 would not be free. One person suggested that the ClassPad Manager 3.0 might not be a free upgrade, but nothing was ever suggested for OS 3.0. Please don't stir up worries about OS 3.0 not being free. Don't get people worried over something that hasn't happened.

Really, This reduction of prize is because of the people who are in this forum!! :lol2:
Everyday, we come here and say "ClassPad is bad, CAS is bad, ClassPad is buggy, FX is better than the ClassPad, TI 89 is better, Texas instruments is better than CASIO"...

So the ClassPads are left for Saltire!

Ah.. no.. it's because they are the older ClassPads (not ClassPad 300 PLUS). ClassPad.org is selling the newer ClassPad 300 PLUS for $149. The older ClassPad 300 is selling well below cost, at $99. They just want to clear out the few older ClassPads that they still have in stock. Remember, the older ClassPad and newer ClassPad are the same except for the brighter screen.

"ClassPad.org will only ship the ClassPad 300 inside the United States"

Does this mean only American people can buy it?

Any Casio distributor in any country can carry the ClassPad. The real question is, do they still have the older ClassPad 300 in stock, or the newer ClassPad 300 PLUS? I think whenever a distributor sells out of their stock and reorder from CASIO they should get the newer ClassPad 300 PLUS.

And some people have said the 300 PLUS doesn't have the speaker that the 300 does. Is that true?

:(

Maybe all it takes is having an American friend willing to ship it to you
after you send him the money to cover the cost + shipping.

The speaker is so important for you? Well, actually it isn't a speaker, it is a buzzer... It produces only one type of sound...
