This post is just to say that Casform version 8.2 is available at
http://members.lycos...ml/casform.html

This includes some bug fixes:

* Converting from TXT f1 f1 etc -> f1 f2 etc rather than just 1 2 etc, also recognition for fn

* Handles P( Q( R( t( differently so that converting into TXT from FA-122 or FXI, sqrt( stays as \sqrt(
and not \sqr\t( where \t( is the normal dist probability function.

* Conjg is the recognised command rather than Conj

I would update the file in file sharing but no Edit feature appears even though I am logged in
and cookies are on. I'm using a Library computer so maybe there is some cookie blocking.
I'll try again later.

Yes.. indeed a great leap for manknd it is

Your program is most usefull, it makes a job like converting a FX-GL, a man's job, into a cat's :nonono: I feel as if my cat ( often know around the house as "the evil red dauchess") is mocking me for the easyness converting from text to g1r is.

My congratulations to you sir... for a fine program. You sure did raise the bar :plol: for industry standards with this update.

if you've been to the FS page before login and then came back after log-in you're probably seeing a cached version just hit ctrl+f5 (if you'r using IE) to proof relaod the page.

I am currently working on next version of Casform.
This will include:
* Being able to resize the window to get larger view.
* Help page to include table of what tokens it recognises. Both CTF and what else it recognises.
* Note in help file about other methods to use instead of Casform
e.g. CAT<->G1M can use FA-124 (English version)
* Bug Fixes: The bugs below have surfaced when converting TXT.

The attempt to recognise not just standard CTF but also
any other reasonable style, combined with me not retesting
everything after each modification has led to:

^-1 goes to reciprocal sign even when something like ^-12

\-1 goes to ^-1 even though \-1 is used for subscript -1 in CTF

^2 goes to the square sign even when something like ^20

ab/c goes to the fraction sign but this conflicts with ab/c being a
command in its own right on the 9860 model.

\n goes to subscript n even when it should be otherwise:
e.g. \nano, \num, \nrt and hence xrt

\E goes to Hex E even when \Exa SI-Unit

Also a conflict between recognising =\= to mean not equals and \=
meaning to force an equals sign and not combine it e.g. not =>

There is a program recently written for <{GNULINUX}> which avoids all this copying/pasting
by working directly with the files. See:
http://casetta.tuxfa...g/wiki.php/Home
The author says that because it is written in python and GTK that it could
be made to run on Windows, although at the moment it doesn't recognise TXT or CTF.
