If you take a look at this site: http://world.casio.c...860g/index.html

Casio has done some improvements, but alas no SDK, at this moment. They released a new program also: fx-9860 Manager Plus http://world.casio.c...c_software.html

What do you guys think of this? Has Casio gotten better?

They sure did update their site... which is nice.
And added a User login... which is also nice.
And pseudo-released a new program( pseudo because I can't find anywhere to dowload it :( ) which is also nice.

Casio sure is improving, perhaps they finnaly reached the conclusion that users are not just people who pay for their calculators, they would like to use them too.

My calculator (fx-9860G) had no problems with the OS Update. It was the 6.06 MB-file which you mentioned in the beginning.

Well I would try removing the batteries... do a hard restart...
do you have any kind of problem with the FA124?
well this will sound kind of dumb but, is it not a graph 85?, it may be difrent... you know they may have difrent USB signatures.

And this is getting kind of off topic... shall we create a new one?

About the 9860 G manager plus... any clue where we might download it? or CASIo simply forgot to publish it?

at last... i can update my calc.. i think the problem is my notebook. because i can update my calc in my friends notebook, using the same updater...
Thanx for everyone

btw what is the improvement of 01.03 from 01.02 ??
is there a log of the changes??

and sorry for out of topic question..
i think casio forgot to publish it.. maybe in a day or two they will be available..

mTm,
OS 1.03 has repair the bugs where the operations between the 9860 and the OH projection unit calls OH-9860 works smoothly. Mostly for school and such not really for our concern.

The new software 9860Manager Plus is not free. It allows real time projection of your calculator display onto the PC via the USB, and also record the key stroke operation which is suppose to be more useful for educators. There is also a much smoother and faster emulator embedded in the Manager Plus.

Don't worry, this would not be another CP OS 3 episode; the 9860 OS upgrade is still free, :D just that the 9860Manager Plus is not.

Yes it can. The numbers are found on the back of your calc: one in the top-right side east to CASIO. The other is bottom-left.

Acutally it does say that 9860 owners can download it for free ... they just probably haven't put it to download in the page yet...

LordNPS,

Actually the 9860 Manager Plus is not free. My friend who distributes Casio calc here said so. The price here in SEA is about USD75. The OS and other resources, Add in are still free, not this one though. I have seen the Manager Plus packaging, its like those Warcraft CD package.

Furthermore, if you look at the function of the 9860 Manager plus, it would be more useful for people such as teachers and professor, so I do not think Casio will make it free even for present FX-9860 owner. They developed this for such education market, and it is not a SDK or something like FA124 which should be free.
