I wonder whether is it Forbidden to PORT a program from some where and share for others?
Aren't the sources as OPEN ones?

Basically if the sources are available that means that someone else may use it in another program.
BUT most of the cases the sources are protected by a license, like the GNU GPL (General Public License), which defines how theses sources may be used. For example if you use some source protected by GPL you have the obligation to say it explicitely in your program, with a reference to the original author, and your own code must be available under GPL as well.
So you have the right to use someone else's code if it is available (and it's not something defined by this forum, but for all programs over the world), but the first thing to do when releasing your program is to say exactly who is the original author of the code and where you found it And in most of the case you must give your own code with your program as well (eventually on demand). Then someone else will be able to use your own code in another free program etc
What you may not do: Take the sources of a free program somewhere, make an Add-In that use it, and release a .cpa file with only minimal information about the original author and without giving your own code if someone asks for it. (Maybe some people here will recognize themselves )
