UPDATED: 2007-08-01: Version 0.2 is released, read further down in the thread.
On the quest to get Linux support for the fx-9860G, release 0.1 of xfer9860 is OUT (read below).
Get it at http://sourceforge.n...jects/xfer9860/
xfer9860 can now send files (one at the time for now ) to your fx-9860G (SD) over the USB link. It might also be rewritten to support the 'ol 3-pin serial interface, as the protocol is almost exactly the same, but it is not a priority of mine (who does not have a USB cable ).
It is released in source code form, and has been tested on <{GNULINUX}>. You will need gcc, make and libusb to compile, instructions are in the INSTALL file.
Windows version is coming soon. Note that this is a command-line application.
Quick edit: The code that is in SVN trunk now should compile under Windows. You can use Dev-C++, and you will need libusb for windows. Kucalc might post an .exe soon.

Great work man. You had fulfilled my work very well. I'm pretty glad you had continued it.

Yea, If you get any trouble, try running as root. I'm running Gentoo <{GNULINUX}> with libusb-0.1.12, and I'm not having any problems while running it as a user.
Great to hear that it is working

Version 0.2 is released.
- Cleaner code
- Experimental download support (works for every Add-in I've tried, except big files more than a few 100kB.)
- Simple functions to show memory capacity and to start optimization of storage memory.
You will need libusb and the usual development tools to compile. The (recommended) automatic building needs SCons.
CFX Master (thanks for all the testing!) might give you some hints on how to compile on Windows
Andreas.
Can a mod please remove the "v0.1" from the thread title?

Luckily I found this topic, it didn't worked for me (because I didn't know you have to run as root ).

Just to drop my appreciation for this project. Thanks for all the work Andreas.
I've just done some quick testing with the latest svn version on a Ubuntu 10.04 system. I got no errors, though I didn't upload any large files (just e-activities).
A nice course of development would be to allow mounting the 9860's main memory. That way we could use all the existing software that handles files, being it either CLI or GUI.
To install all the needed libraries in order to compile on Ubuntu run:
$ sudo apt-get install scons libusb-dev
