Hi,

looking through the file sharing/link pages, I think they need an update:

Here you will find .rar files, these files are RAR archives. We are using RAR because it's the best archiver, and so the files are the smallest possible.

Visit the WinRAR page to have more information and download (or buy) RAR for your plateform.

NOTE: Know that this website is much more beutiful if you use MSIE with ActiveX enabled (DirectX filters support). I will try to make it look good with others nav too but according to this page, 80% visitors of casiocalc.org are using MSIE so that will wait! :)

What the pages need is a clean design (the php coding is fine), using CSS for layout, not tables. The stats reports about 1/3 of users using other browsers than MSIE, so I think it's time ;)

Also, RAR is not best in all cases, I think you also should support other compressed archive formats such as .bz2, .gz, .7z and .zip.

The 'Best viewed in sRGB' link looks dead(?), but any 'best viewed in'-comments are sort of unneeded as long as the page is written according to the standards :P

I hope you don't take my criticism in a bad way, it is great to have a file sharing area and a link section, these are just suggestions to improve it.

Andreas.

EDIT: Quick example of what I think could work: http://xfer9860.sour...links/index.php

I don't like this design too... but what have you against tables?

The design does not have to be like I suggested, but I think it needs a new look. One that matches this site and with colors that work together. I guess the file/linksharing section was made for UCN (that I've never seen). I have nothing against tables for tabular data. It is not so important in the real world, but if you redesign you should at least use some recent standards like CSS instead of using tables for layout.
