the CFX has a built in equation solver. how do I use it?
for example, how would i use it to solve:
Y=X+3
Y=3-X
(I know i could solve this myself, burt i'm too lazy to get my textbook and find a harder one.)

You at first have to bring it to the form aX + bY = C
->
Y=X+3
Y=3-X
X-Y = 3
-X-Y=-3
then you go to EQUA (A) and Simultaneous (F1) there you select 2 (F1)
Now you type
a b c
=================
1 = 1 -1 3
2 = -1 -1 -3
Now press EXE ot F1 (Solve)
Now you get the result (3/0).
Thats it.

It's quite self-explanatory
why don't you try, and if you fail, check your manual, before posting such questions..
