Probs with WindowsXP

Hi,

i have built a link-cable with an IC MAX232. I use Windows95 and FA-123 and everything was fine. But now i have bought an new computer with WinXP. And nothing works!!!

What could I do? Reinstall Win95? Build another cable with other components?

Have you tried win95 compatibility mode?

:blink: I can?t tell yopu what is the problem, i have the original Casio cable and the Win XP, and everything works fine..........

You can install thw Win 98/95, but the best way is to check if is not a software problem, try whit another PC link program....... :)

com ports managements has changed with winXP so try to use another software.

also make sure you have the right com port settings in FA 123 and your cable is plugged into the right com port.

I have WinXP home (which XP are you running) on my laptop with the MAX232 cable and FA123 and FA122 and CasioCom and all the programs work fine.

i had a couple of people comment to me on win xp problems with self-made cables. they occured with fa-123, xchange and casiocom, maybe with others, too.

we discussed that problem here earlier (and polled it) and nobody really could find an answer. all i know is that it does work for most people. i tested selfmade cables on a win xp pro machine and i couldn't reproduce that error.

:) One friend has on notebook, and they only has USB ports
