I just got the estimate back for my AFX2. It will cost $56.66 for repair, S&H, and tax. I only paid $50 for it. :( Do any of you know where I can get an AFX2+ for about $50? If so I can sell someone my messed up calc. Also, I have until May 16 to reply or Casio will keep my calc. $56.66 for one line of pixels, maybe thats what the mean by the unexpected extra.

I think it's not worth to let it repair if everything works fine and only one row of pixels is damaged.

I'm not really sure where you found an AFX for $50, so I would say if the one line of pixels are really THAT important to you, then go for it. I got my calc for over 100, and I haven't seen them go for much under that. But ultimately I would agree with Pixter, one line of pixels wouldn't be worth that price for me.

Yes buy one from ebay if you are going get another - I'd have to fork out $200US for one here in NZ, but got mine brand new for only $35US!!
And had to pay about the same to ship it over...

I've had problems like that with various LCD panels - most of the time the unit itsn't actually damaged, but there's a poor contact on the LCD data strip socket. You should be able to fix it yourself with some careful tampering :)

:D Buy one FX 1.0 or one FX 1.0 Plus, they have the same AFX 2.0 and AFX 2.0 Plus software; see the related topic about it for more info? :)
