Hello i need some information about how can i make an pc-calculator cable for the casio fx2.0. I see diagrams from internet but they dont specify for wich calculator the design is.

I have fear of harm my calculator, in Mexico this calculator is too expensive. Also i need information of which software use for the design. My e-mail direction is: alberto_enciso1 AT hotmail.com.

Please tell me about a cable diagram for my calculator and how to use, i have made good programs of electronic engineer but i cant share it because i dont have the pc-calculator cable!!!

if I'm not mistaken all models use the same cable (except the classpad), my cfx works with the same cable my afx works with.

I'm pretty sure Crimson is right, both my CFX's and my AFX all work off the same cable, which I ordered from purple computing for 12 US dollars about 4 and a half years ago. Everything works fine for me still, and pretty much all of the diagrams I've seen are the same design.

FYI: My cable is the official casio link cable, I acctually coughed up the money for it. if you dont want to do this then try Casio Corner for some good diagrams.

Casto, perhaps you could post a link to the purple computing site, if I recall correctly you (or at least someone) has given it out before.

I still don't see what an USB cable should be usefull for.
It wouldn't allow faster transfers. can you explain it to me???

It wil ldefinately NOT allow us to install things faster since the calculator will NEVER be faster than
115Kbps. The USB cable won't make its connection unit faster. And I don't understand the
argument with older apps. Why should older serial apps work with USB while they don't do with
serial ports? isn't this upsidedown?

I think usb cable will be terminate soon !

but it will be hardest to build it, the main IC is 7mm x 7mm only in SMS !

so, I will concept an other, a MAX233a who just have only one caps, two 1n4148 diode, a R0 for wire junction, and a 78L05

The kiwi design its very good , similar at one in casiocorner, but more detailed.

The MAX232 IC its an interface for the voltajes of the calculators (in calculator serial port about 5V), and the serial port of the PC(works with about 12V ) only, you can view datasheets of him on any web browser.

I will make that circuit, and the design in printed circuit, with the real dimensions of IC and passive components. If anyone needs help e-mail me, at alberto_enciso1 AT hotmail.com

Actually, the only real reason I want a USB design is so I can plug the cable in the front of my computer and pull it back off and put it away when I'm done with it. Connecting it to the back of the computer every time is kind of annoying. I also occasionally would like to connect my calc to a computer at school, but they have strict rules about hooking anything to the back of the computers, but they all have front side USB ports that they allow us to use for any reason (I use USB disk drives on a regular basis). No, the communication will never be faster, but the usability of the cable would be faster for me!
