i think you all should just stick to the forum, as all this stuff you guys are talking about seems like a lot of hassle.

I agree! Leave me alone with this stuff!
If you have to say sth. say it in the forum.

If even couldn't connect over www.dal.net site no matter what server I used in the config!
It always showed connecting and then ... nothing it did NOTHING ELSE!

Then you have to be prepared that little spamming-chat discussions may be subject to deletion in the future.

how about this, I could create another forum where chat-like behavior would be alowed, instead of deleating such posts in the main forum we could just move them to there... we might as well give it a try...

dalnet is pleanty reliable, these people will have problems with every irc server requiring ident because they are too lazy to fix their problem.
I dont even know of another network that uses chanserv, but we dont really need it i can keep 4-5 bot's on there from different computers

i say we just keep using dalnet and if your that held back to learn new things well keep your aol browser and you spyware all over the place, that reminds me of an old lady

Lets move to other network (dalnet is not a reliable network nowadays)

Solution a) the firewall is 100% automated. I don'T have to turn it of.
Solution B) I have no router (i think) at least never heared of one :D
Solution C) It is the Konqueror (The internet Browser) I think it has access :)
Solution D) Well this should be a problem on a <{GNULINUX}> system ... But i can try it with:

fdisk /dev/hda
-d
1

This should delete dev/hda1. It should do it also :)

Solution E) Great Idea! IRC worked before!

As i said I used www.dal.net

What is this about!
You should read ALL posts before you reply and blame me for having no clue what to do!

Bytefish suggested the site www.dat.net since it has a special option that launches an applet
wich connects to dalnet. You should also read my post carefully since i said before that i did so.

;) :( :hammer: :hammer:

for me it changes nothing with Identd enabled or disabled (I tried both) :

DALnet generally doesn't work but kernel.dal.net almost always works so I connect via kernel.dal.net and I don't change anymore :D .

Hum.. What is Identd in fact ?

Hmm, I get connection refused for every dalnet server mentioned in www.dal.net and only one server from the mirc-list works for me...

I tried to use mIRC and change some options (with help advices - to Bytefish) - with no result and I tried all DAL servers known to my mIRC program and those given by you. It rarely connected me to some servers, but even then, no Identd response were given. (I checked if it is surely set).

Then I tried to use browser. It loaded applet and the problem was similar - all servers said "no Identd response". I can't understand...
My mIRC works, because I use it to talk with friends. But using another server.
