hey man.
here is a complete guide how to upgrade the memory for the cfx 9850... i think they are quite the same (9850 and 9750).
the tutorial is at http://www.geocities...k02/memory.html.

I am sorry, that it's completly in german, maybe you can find a good online translator and get the main parts. :-)
Bye.

freetranslation.com

@ casiomad, it is a calculator, not a computer, i can understand getting an extra 32 kb, but you dont really need that much more, how many programs are that big, if you need alot of memory get an AFX :) but if you can get like 712 kb let me know

If you want to buy an AFX, buy the 1.0 Plus, it has the same functions than the 2.0 and its more cheaper ( i read it from a topic in this UCF).

The 74HC32 its and logic OR function. If i remember well, that CMOS chip have four OR gates of 2 bits.

Sorry for the late response!
I've just read this topic and Bob Vila's message now.
I'm having training in a petroleum company right now, and I might travel to the oil well (in the desert  ) soon.

Here it is:

i was thinking about the same thing with a 333 :) , i had it all figured out how to hook it on to the exterier so that it was removable, but i never did do it, mainly because i didnt know how

and 2 mb would be cool, although you would never need that much

The CFX CPU can address 2MB of RAM? If the CPU use the same port to address the RAM and ROM then that CPU can adress that 2MB.

i was also thinking about inserting another chip to increase memory on my cfx9850GB but after seeing that german site with the fotos, toally ruled it out. Ok ot gets 64kbytes but also a destroyed calculator in aspect. anything else simpler than that plastic surgery.

If you have experience and do it really carefully, your chances of destroying your calculator drop. :) If you know you are going to mess up and destroy the calculator but really need the extra mem, you should buy another calc since if you break the calc anyway you are going to buy a new one anyway.

You have to make sure that you have all the necessary tools.

Before trying soldering in your calc get some practice in an old death circuit ;) .

Some people actually have expanded the memory of their calculators successfully. 2MB on a AFX however...
