feel free to chat here, if I did this right you shouldn't be able to start new topics but you can post everything here. oh, and make sure you state your opinions about this forum, its kinda a test idea.

yeah, one of the main difrences is that guests can post, and the posts are intentionally made to resemble a chat. plus, no one will (at least not admin) will get mad at you if you carry on a conversation with yourself.

I think this is a great idea but here are some suggestions:

1. Turn Signatures off in this forum
2. Turn all the things like track topic / print topic / email / PM below the messsages off
3. Set the posts/page to 50 or greater
4. Restrict post lengths to 200 chars or so

This will make this forum better readable and make it different to the FDC (Free discussion forum)

If it is possible you should (the admins) also set an option that all posts older than one week are deleted autmatically
in this forum. So it won't flood the database :) And if you want to say sth. that should be visible longer goto FDC

all those are great ideas, but I cant seem to find a way to do it... i cat change those kind of settings for the board as a hole but not this forum individually. mabey someone else knows how. anyway, the admin reaction to this has so far been negative, so it might not matter anyway, a decision should be reached in a few hours/1 day.
