So. I brought a fx-9750GII a few weeks ago and saw a friend of mine playing games on it. So I thought it would be cool and asked a friend to help me. When he was downloading a new OS after wiping the old one the usb cable disconnected pretty much bricking/crashing my os. I tried flashing it and using FA-124 but as the calculator is not in a receiving mode, I can not flash a new OS on it leaving it bricked. Does anyone know how to fix this?? or do i have to spend another $150 getting a new one?

It sounds like you tried to port the fx-9860gii OS to your fx-9750gii. I tried this too with no success. I had to press the reset button on the back to reset the calc but at the same time there is a small chance that it will indeed fry your calc. If you made a backup of your calc before you try updating you could try to put that back on or you could go to Casio for the OS.
Third party os are always an option and might actually be the only option. I could only find the fx-9860gii OS.

I'm not sure if my friend backed my file up but the FA-124 can not communicate with the calculator as it is not in a receiving mode... Therefore I cannot install the old os or backed up files.

Ok, What I think you need to do is while holding down the restart button, press and hold down F2, 4, and AC. Release restart button while holding the rest down for anout 3 or four second. Release after and immeaditly press and hold 9 for one second and then X for one second and release.
That should send you to a screen where you can either restart the calculator by pressing the restart button or you can flash your old OS or test your luck again with the fx-9860gii OS (Make sure you have the right fx-9750gii OS, they patched this in a later version and that is why mine and likely yours will not work)
See this video as reference.
The restart/factory reset is at 1:23

I was well aware of the risks involved and knew that a bricking was possible.

Rhodie, do you think I could have a copy of your 9750gii os?
