Recently when I was browsing the forum, I found that almost all the threads use emoticons instead of emojis.

I am curious. Emojis are way more popular and diversified than the emoticons.

What do you guys think about it?  :) ???? (wait it supposes to be a smiling face)

(Also I can't even type some of the emojis here. Idk why)

This is an old forum software, this is probably why. I prefer emoticons myself because their appearance never changes contrary to emojis which are implemented differently on every OS.

Hi 2072,

This is an old forum software, this is probably why. I prefer emoticons myself because their appearance never changes contrary to emojis which are implemented differently on every OS.

That's a good advantage of emoticon.

However, I have recently tested the IRC widget with emojis and surprisingly it can show the emojis. Is UTF-8 the reason why it can support them and not emoticons?

Regards,

CalcLoverHK
