Hello to all Casio ES and EX/Classwiz enthusiasts here.

I don't know if you noticed, but Germany gets a new Classwiz for back to school 2022, the fx-800DE CW :

I went to Germany to test it on the Didacta in June. It's very different from previous Classwiz calculators, it is a huge hardware and software revision of the Classwiz platform. Casio did litterally change everything and it is very impressive, since it is superior in many ways to current black and white graphing calculators :

  • code name EY-016 in the diags (not even a CY anymore)
    kDaFL8nt.jpg
  • completely new keypad
  • new grayscale screen (4 shades of gray, still 192*63 pixels but with the number of flags reduced from 20 to 18)

  • around 1.8 times faster than previous Classwiz models
    hGlBUAdt.jpgcKfgD8dt.jpg
  • even able to play grayscale animations, very impressive :

  • completely new CPU (not even a nX-U8/100 anymore)

    C404EICt.jpgSeoOezrt.jpg
  • ...

The fx-800DE CW seems to be the first member of a Classwiz 2 family of calculators (unofficial name). And it's very likely to me that current Classwiz calculators are going to be replaced by newer calculators based on the Classwiz 2 hardware+software in the next months/years.

A comprehensive test is available in French on TI-Planet :

And here is also a comparison, still partially in French :

https://tiplanet.org...jp900,fx800decw

What's your impression about all this ?

Feel free to ask questions, I'll reply if I can.

Why is it FX-800 DE Z in these photos (and not DE CW)? Is it a prototype version?
