I need the help of everyone with a classpad, but first, if you havent read this topic do so now: E-Mail to Casio

ok, now read about this other bug I found (excerpt from an e-mail):

Some times when the ClassPad enters power save mode the buttons on the classpad will cease working, the stylus still functions, but none of the keys will respond (ON/OFF, Keyboard, EXE, etc...) thus making it imposible to do much more than navigate the menus.  from what I can tell the only way to fix the problem is to hit the "P" button on the back of the ClassPad.

what I need help with is finding out if anyone else has encountered this problem, and if so what were you doing when you noticed. the people at casio havent been able to reproduce it themselves but if someone else has had it happen it could save them some time (and money) trying to figgure out if its just my calc, and then we might be able to help them in other ways if its not just mine.

I cant test this bug very easly myself because you must wait at least a day for the classpad to go into powersave, but if we all try things will go much quicker.

anyway, if this has happend to you or if you intend to try to test it, report back here.

i haven't have this bug, but yesterday when i edited my program xxxxx (~30.000 bytes (the data for a periodic table)), it has freezed (screen and keys) ?! and i had to press P to reboot the c300

it was the first time that my classpad freezes..

There is something i want to ask
What does this Error mean:

Fatal Exception Error occur.

That happend. Then, the classpad restart.
I checked this error in User Manual. Yes, there was a error table like this in the "Error table". What do you think about that?

Yes, I remember that the target is: 00000014 (may be there is more or less number 0). That happened when I use Geometry application, I chose File-New or Edit-ClearAll. Please tell me why this happened?

Thanks, CrimsonCasio. I hope they will tell us about it soon.
Oh, I want to imply that this problem only appear when I saved Geometry drawing into memory, and especially when calculation history in Main are over 30.
And one more? Would you mind If I ask what grade are you in? :) I just want to know. :)

hey guys, I sent another e-mail to casio to ask if they were interested in a few tips for improving the BASIC language on the classpad, I dont know if they will be interested but if they are here is what I suggested:

1) DelFolder be able to deleat unempty folders (very annoying)
2) Screen resizing and placement
3) A simple yes/no input box
4) Error checking (program can specify what should happen if a error ocurs in a certine place, instead of breaking)

did I miss anything else major?

yes, it does, its just less conveinient than "string"="string" instead its StrCmp "String","String",var if var is 0 then they are equal.

ha, ASM/C no way, just about everyone has more of a right to that title than me  classpad basic is still basic, and its simmilar enought that it didn't take me long to assimilate the diffrences.

Overlord: In that case I guess I should tell them.

by the way, BitWise once tested the length of the member title, he had it to about 6 lines...

My cp300 froze up when I whanted to solve x after expanding sin(x+297.72)=27.52 (degree mode)
maybe the CPU wasn't strong enought.

it looks like doing the tExpand before the solve makes the problem too complicated and slows the solve down. It you don't do the tExpand first it solves quickly (at least it did for me). Also, it doesn't hang using the ClassPad Manager (but that is running on a PC).

NOTE 1: If you press the break key Clear) it will interupt the solve.

also make sure you didnt hit backspace while it was thinking, that will activate the pause feature and the classpad will "freeze" untill you hit the backspace key again or hit the P button on the back.

NOTE 2: I tried this example on the TI voyage and it can't solve this problem at all!

solving just sin(x+297.72)=27.52 (i just typed)
gives an awnser that is too complex for me to uderstan sumthing x i
, what is i?
so so if expand it I woul get sin(x+y)=sinx * cos y + sin y * cos x
maybey I should get a different awnser. one that would make sence.

its called complex numbers, the bit b4 the I is the 'Real' part of the number, and the bit after is the 'non-real' term, its used for solving problems like the square root of -1, which is not possible without complex numbers.

The solution is complex. Thre isn't a real solution to this problem.

Look at the first step in solving this problem. you take the arcsin of each side, and get arcsin(27.52) on the left. But in the real domain sin is between -1 and 1, so there can't be a real solution. The only solution is in the complex domain.

If you put the ClassPad in REAL mode then you will only get real results. In this case, it will return "No Solution"
