or try to ask for presenting the same game in the two comps
(i think that some programers will do that and some told that we are allowed to do this)

its unfortunate that both competitions are taking place at the same time. we will have to make alowences to compensate.
btw, everyone now has a text area in their profile called "awards", this will be used to log the winners of the competitions and give out awards to people that do things worthy of recognition. a list of possible awards will be issued shortly and amended as nessicary. (the previous comp winners are being awarded now)

Anyway, we almost reached the same conclusion.
Just keep your game away from the public till we finish the UCN competition, and you shall continue developing it of course.

We will receive a classment of the best games, but we could not see how they are before the end of this second competition... i don't find it really funny

So does it really matter if beta versions of the progs are released before the end? Don't forget that all people who suscribed in the asm/C game category belong to the french community, so anyway everyone of them know what kind of progs they should can see in the UCF competition, so there is no disavantages

I would like the supervisors of the UCF Competition consider it and decide if yes or no the programs can be released before the 1st November deadline

One of the bad things about releasing those games before the competition end is that it might discourage participants who think their game isn't worth to be finished...

I think they all know a little bit what kind of level we should see in this competitionASM/C Games:
- Bija
- casioworld
- C@siomax
- Didj
- Fantasy
- madjar
- mastermage
- superna
- X-thunder28

and I can hardly wait to see casiomax's game !!
Erf ... thanks a lot, but X-Thunder28 with his simcity was beating me I think, and what about Orwell ?

- Competitors have already sent their gmaes to the CASIO competition.
- The CASIO competition will announce results.
- The competitor has two choices then:
1- Not to release the game to the public and keep it secret till the end of our competition, this is the better choice for all.
2- To release the game to public, he will not lose points this way or be punished by any means, but it will make the competition less competitive. - Whether the competitor choses any of the above choices, he's allowed to continue developing his game to any extent he needs till the competition ends.
- If the competitor chose to publically release his game he IS NOT ALLOWED to release any further developments to the public till the end of the competition.
One more thing though, according to the above rules, the X-Thunder's game is accepted and will enter the competition, and what's more, he's allowed to develop it to any further extents.
Will you tell him C@siomax please, and also tell all the French guys, ok?

"Whether the competitor choses any of the above choices, he's allowed to continue developing his game to any extent he needs till the competition ends."
and then: "If the competitor chose to publically release his game he IS NOT ALLOWED to release any further developments to the public till the end of the competition."
But I guess that I should consider X-Thunder's example as the correct one.

I thought that nothing important will happen in one week, well I was wrong

Anyway Moha's rules are ok to me in this unexpected 2-comps situation,
hope that all competitors won't object aswell.
I also wonder if Casio Europe won't say too much about winner's programs.
I'd like to encourage competitors to post here their thoughts about the competition, developement or programming problems they face.
Roeoender.

Hey programs programmersASM/C Programs:
- 4nic8
- huhn_m
- tekkeitserktok

I can say that I'll finish my program in 4 weeks time (I hope). For me is very useful I use it all the time (even it doesn't have all functions). It isn't very innovative program, but it has got some new function (and old made better then it was). Unfortunately I can't manage to do some really innovative functions at the moment, but I do my best. I have some time to think it out so I'll try.
btw I'll need some testers with different rom then mine. Not now, but I want to know who will be interested in that. (I need only one person to each rom type)

it publically available this way before the comp ends

#75

I?m new here and just have a question about this contest.
I wrote a nice game for AFX series (not ready yet; hope I?ll get it until November 1st) and want to participate the contest now.
But there are only 2 cathegories C/ASM (Add In) or Casio Basic, and I wrote it in Pascal.
Can I participate with Pascal programs in the C cathegory, too (as it?s an Add In as fast as any C program could be, and the Graphics Engine written in ASM, by the way), or is there no way to participate now?

Nobody use Pascal that's why it's C/ASM category. However Pascal is comparable programming language to C so it should se ok.
